This was ok- better than so-so- low pick but good for a filler and hea style. She‘s searching for connections with long lost family, he‘s part of a generational curse. There was some confusion where I think the story could have been filled in and some places it dragged. it is a bit spicy.
also my #jolabokaflodswap arrived ❤️❤️❤️

A beat-up copy of Little Toot and the Loch Ness Monster came through the book drop, and I was instantly hit with nostalgia. Gorgeous watercolors, a sweet Scottish adventure, and the joy of reading it aloud to my coworkers sealed the deal. I didn‘t know this was part of a series, but now I want them all. A charming rediscovery! 🛳️🐉📖

A cute, spicy (🌶🌶🌶🌶) romance full of magic. I liked the progression of Key reconnecting with her family and her relationship with Lachlan.

I actually really enjoyed this one, and I was not expecting it! A good mix of humour, monster smut and Scottish lore, I think this is a good book to pick up if you haven‘t quite branched out into this genre. While I‘d say it‘s tame, it also delivers on what you should expect 😉.

And a hot, grumpy Scotsman doesn‘t hurt.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

CoverToCoverGirl I‘m going to branch out, your review and the Scottish bit convinced me. 🤭 5mo
StellaDz @CoverToCoverGirl hope you like it! I was nervous but I think it‘s a good starter 🤪 5mo

I wish that this #ScottishBook had won the vote for last month‘s #bookclub meeting! Set during WWII, Ellis & Maddie are a married couple more intent on fun than the war effort. Their drunken frivolities get them banned from the family & so with flat-footed Hank, they make their way from New England the Loch Ness in the midst of the war! This proves eye-opening for Maddie who finds that Scotland helps her see the truth about herself & her marriage.

Welp, this won the vote on my Scottish selections for my longest running book club—& it‘s most definitely the most sexually explicit book the club has ever read together in its over 15 years of existence! From the cutesy cover & shapeshifting plot, I didn‘t expect this enemies-to-lovers romance to be quite so graphic (he can‘t control turning into Nessie by night, but manages to turn some specific body parts into something more monstrous!😳).

TorieStorieS The plot‘s pretty predictable but it‘s a quick read— though I am not really sure what there will be to discuss! 6mo
rubyslippersreads I 💚 Nessie, and had this on my TBR, but I don‘t think it‘s for me. Thanks for the warning. 6mo
5feet.of.fury 😂 the cartoon covers will get ya 🦕🍆 6mo

TorieStorieS @rubyslippersreads No problem— I did see the spice rating on Aardvark‘s site when I ordered it, but the other book with the same rating wasn‘t nearly as graphic, so I didn‘t hesitate to include it when I picked books to discuss! My mom is in this club too, so I handed over my copy with the same warning, haha!! 6mo
TorieStorieS @rubyslippersreads Have you read any good Nessie books? This one and the last one were just not monstery enough! 6mo
TorieStorieS @5feet.of.fury Indeed!! 😆 My mom and my teenage niece are in this book club as well as friends so it will be an interesting discussion (or a nonexistent one!) on Sunday! 6mo
5feet.of.fury @TorieStorieS oh no! Lmao hope they aren‘t too scandalized. 6mo
TorieStorieS @5feet.of.fury I was clutching my pearls on their behalf as I read! 😆 Well, I was actually laughing so loud about it that my husband came in from another room to find out what was so funny! Wish me luck for Sunday though! 6mo
rubyslippersreads @TorieStorieS I‘ve only read one, but am definitely up for suggestions for more. 6mo
TorieStorieS @rubyslippersreads oh, thanks! I‘ll have to check this one out! Other than the disappointing Monster, I also read Steve Alten‘s 6mo
