GirlNamedJesse
Half Moon Summer | Elaine Vickers

Drew and Mia‘s stories intertwine and separate over and over again, always returning to the path. Their stories both show the value of resiliency; of taking one more step, running a little further, just breathe, breathe, breathe, and being there for each other. Theirs is a beautiful story of friendship and family and running.

I'm not sure this is an "everybody" book. Look how sick the man looks (the one with the ribbon). This story could generate a great conversation about history and what we know now. The book features a specific Olympic event and not the history of the marathon. It never mentions that women could not participate until 1984. It's a weird story, but I liked it. #everybodybooks

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.

A little late to the party. Okay, years late. Dean Karnazes' journalism of his incredible feat (50 marathons in 50 states in 50 days).

FormalFitGuy I heard about this guy! 4y
llcoolnate @FormalFitGuy pretty awesome book! Worth noting that he's got a "condition" which allows for minimal (near non-existent) lactic acid buildup. In other words, his muscles don't hurt or tire the same way as "normal people". He attributes much less to this than he should in my opinion. Otherwise, incredible, awesome feat! And a really interesting read. (He narrates his own story on the audiobook if that's your thing too!) 4y
FormalFitGuy Awesome! Thanks! 4y

#IRan the London Marathon this year - a moment I feel very proud of! (Particularly as I didn‘t know at the time that I had arthritis in one hip!)

To all my fellow Littens this is one of the most extraordinary books you will read and I know I‘m biased but this is my other half‘s story of how he ran 401 marathons in 401 days and raised over 6d8,000 for charity - there‘s even a chapter about me! Please share and purchase this amazing book #marathons #run #401 #believe #extraordinary #inspiration #amazing #charity #overcome #adversity #motivation #share #bookworm #reading
