43/150 I found this book extremely infuriating. I know the government lies, and I know that government keeps secrets, that's a given. However, so much of what is stamped "classified-National Security" is just to cover up the government's ignorance, incompetence, corruption and greed. Every administration since FDR has promised that they would be transparent, they would be the government
of the people. Sadly, millions (billions?) ⬇️⬇️

RamsFan1963 of tax payers dollars have been spent by these same administrations to not only hide this information but to make it legally impossible for anyone to gain access to it even decades later. Democrats or Republicans, it doesn't matter, they all lie about transparency. 5 🌟 2y

Reggie So it doesn‘t say who killed JFK? 2y
RamsFan1963 @Reggie Sadly no, but he does bring up a good point. As much as the government leaks information, if Kennedy's assassination had been a government job, there was NO WAY it would still be a secret 60 years later. 2y
AllDebooks This sounds great, albeit liable to induce raging in the reader. 1y

Finished this last night. Saw it in the library & picked it up for nostalgia‘s sake. It was a fun reread, thrusting me back into the aristocratic class in 1920‘s England. Lord Peter Whimsey spoke of his investigations as a “distraction“ from his life of dinners, luncheons., his club, & his rare books. But I have no inclination to visit his world again by rereading more in the series.#20in4 #readathon #marvelousmay

I finished one of my book goals for #MarvelousMay 📚 and that‘s something I feel good about! I really enjoyed this one; I love Benedict & Sophie, but sometimes Sophie‘s stubbornness and secret keeping drove me crazy. That was the only reason I couldn‘t give this novel 4 stars. I‘m enjoying the #Bridgerton series thus far.

5⭐️: Spectacular Read!
4⭐️: Loved it/Great read.
3⭐️: Highly Enjoyable
2⭐️: Okay
1⭐️: DNF

I have met my 750 page goal, with 761 page at 8:04pm. I will probably get a bit more reading in, but wanted to post before I forgot. #MarvelousMay @Andrew65

What an interesting book! Even when I figured out where it was going, I wasn‘t sure where it was going.

Anyway, that‘s a wrap on the #MarvelousMay readathon. All things considered, I‘m pleased with the outcome.

I finished all these books but The Dictionary of Lost Words which I started yesterday. A couple I did review but I want to do the other reviews this week. #marvelousmay #readathon #May14to22 #2022
Thanks to @Andrew65 - I feel a sense of camaraderie with everyone else who is reading & reporting. I was home with Covid in quarantine- after the first 2days I read my way through it!
