I am mentally exhausted at the moment from work and was in desperate need of a complete comfort read and this absolutely did the trick. I can‘t wait for Benedict‘s story to be the next Netflix season!

Also started reading this title this weekend. Really enjoying the series!
For some reason, they‘re skipping over Benedict in the Netflix series and going to Collin‘s story. I‘m not sure why. I‘m glad I‘ve read the book now. I might have some idea what they‘ll make of it. I loved this book. I love Benedict‘s quirky sense of humor and the fact that he would marry a woman because he loved her despite her station. #SeriesLove2024 @Andrew65 @TheSpineView
Sophie Beckett never dreamed she'd be able to sneak into Lady Bridgerton's famed masquerade ball—or that she would be spinning in the arms of her "Prince Charming"—the debonair and devastatingly handsome Benedict Bridgerton. But when the clock strikes midnight, Sophie‘s enchanting evening ends. Since that night Benedict has been able to think of nothing but the bewitching young woman, and he‘s sworn to find and wed his mystery miss.
This one is a Cinderella re-telling.
I really liked Sophie. She was very confident and knew what she wanted even when her life was in a bad place.
I like and hate Benedict. He could be charming and sweet, but he also wouldn't take no for an answer.
I loved how Posy's story ended up!
I know cultures are way different in history but I struggle with reading societal expectations and when men don't listen to women when they say no to advances.
A nice, charming Cinderella retale.
Though Benedict didn't act like Prince Charming when he was basically coercing Sophie. This topic was unfortunately quickly dealt with.
Besides that, the author's writing style was as always very charming and full of wit. Again, I was delighted by Lady Violet's schemes and Lady Whistleton's reports. All in all an entertaining and delightful read.
The second epilogue brought the fourth star for this book.
And, she did it again! Julia Quinn is a genius, period. This book has giving me mixed feelings. The time period when the story happens has to be taken in consideration, but I started hating Benedict, which it was almost an impossible thing. Poor Sophie! So much to be said. I‘m almost finished reading the book. I‘ll be back 😉📚

This was a cute but not perfect story between Benedict Bridgerton and Sophie Beckette. This one was fairy-taled themed: Cinderella.
At first, I really enjoyed Julia Quinn's spin of the classic story but then I was thrown off with Benedict's behavior towards Sophie. It was not a love story but one of lust that was quickly covered the disguise of "true love." The book did have its sweet moments though.

Loved the TV show so much I bought the books too. Loved this Regency romance novel.

My first month of #readthemallorunhaul is done!
Checked two off! Read one and will be unhauling Behind Her Eyes... I had plans to read it but saw a big trigger warning for a graphic pet death and decided it was better to Unhaul.
Two down! Ten to go!
I just finished the third book in the Bridgerton series!!! I loved this book a lot!!! Benedict was a great character who I really did love!!! I rated this book a 4 out of 5 stars!!!
4⭐
First book of 2023!
My best of '22 was a Bridgerton book, so I decided to start off the year with another. It did not disappoint! 👠
LIKES
- Quinn's lovely writing
- Learning about the time period
- The Bridgerton family
- The humor
- This is not just another Cinderella story, even though it starts off that way
DISLIKES
- Sophie is sweet, but not my favorite leading lady
- The beginning/Cinderella parallels
#lastfirst Two very different books! Finished the year with a light romance, and started with local history.
Bridgerton family has grown on me, and this was really light & entertaining to read
I don't really love situations where someone doesn't respect someone else's values. That part of the book was infuriating.
This was still so entertaining that I wanted to see how everything ends.

#12Booksof2022 best book of February—this is not the cover I have and February was an atrocious month of reading for me but I‘ve been slowly working my way through the Bridgerton books and it was the best for that month. @Andrew65
Admittedly romance is not my genre. I get incredibly frustrated with it.
Of the now 3 books of this series I liked this one the most. That being said it‘s a very soft pick as I got increasingly frustrated and annoyed with the story. At points I HATED the characters.
I am taking break from the Bridgertons.
It‘s weird I don‘t mind watching romance but reading it makes me roll my eyes LOL I‘ll still finish the book though😊
Getting a jump on my 2023 #readthemallorunhaul challenge and starting the 3rd installment of the Bridgerton series!
I had a few Christmas reads lined up, but I feel like there is nothing cozier than settling back in with a fictional family you love this time of year. 🌿
It‘s a Cinderella story and the existence of a wicked stepmother stressed me out. Also, I thought the hero was too hard on the heroine. Luckily everything worked out in the end 😉 and I still love this family
This is the third book in the Bridgerton series and I just love each and every one more and more as I read them. I figured I would catch up on this Volume 1 box from OUABC since the Volume 2 is shipping soon hopefully! I love these books and all of the gifts in the first box have been great! I can‘t wait to read the other books in the series!
Continuing the daft will-they-won‘t-they theme of the previous two books. Still completely loved it. Still not sorry.
OBSESSED WITH THIS BOOK!
It was just so good, definitely my favorite Bridgerton book for now.

“Always,” he interrupted, raising her hand to his lips and kissing her palm with a fervency that sucked her breath away. “Always.”
"Excellent," he murmured. "Now then, I'm going to leave. And you have only one task while I go. You will stay right here, and you will keep smiling. Because it breaks my heart to see any other expression on your face.”
It was odd, and he was almost afraid to analyze
what it meant, but he needed to know that she was safe and protected more than he needed her for himself.
.
.
He captured her mouth with his, swearing to himself as he did so that if she said no, if she made any sort of indication that she didn't want this, he'd stop. It'd be the hardest thing he'd ever done, but he would do it.
Until Sophie
Unlike the lady in silver, she wasn't someone he could hope to marry, but also unlike the lady in silver, she was here.
And he wasn't going to let her get away.
She was here, with him, and she felt like heaven. The soft scent of her hair, the slight taste of salt on her skin- she was, he thought, born to rest in the shelter of his arms. And he was born to hold her.
"I can live with you hating me," he said to the closed door. "I just can't live without you.”
"I think I have to kiss you," he said, looking as if he couldn't quite believe his own words.
"It's rather like breathing. One doesn't have much choice in the matter.”
“But mostly he just enjoyed being in the same room with her. It didn't seem to matter if they were talking or if she was just sitting in a chair, leafing through a book while he stared out the window. Something about her presence brought him peace.”
Sophie turned around slowly. "Are you this charming with everyone or only me?
"Oh, only you." He grinned. "You do bring out the best in me, Miss Sophie Beckett.”
“She cried for the memory of when he'd held her in his arms at the masquerade, and she cried because she was in his arms right now.
She cried because he was so damned nice, and even though he was clearly ill, even though she was, in his eyes, nothing but a housemaid, he still wanted to care for her and protect her.”
"I want-" His voice dropped to a whisper, and his eyes looked vaguely surprised, as if he couldn't quite believe the truth of his own words. "I want your future. I want every little piece of you.”
Just started this Cinderella-esque Bridgerton #3! I can‘t put it down long enough to take a photo. Big Julia Quinn fan! Quickly reading book 3&4 before the third season comes out about Colin and Pen.
After two heavy books, I needed something light and fluffy. So of course, Bridgerton! I like Benedict better than Anthony, and this story better than the second one, but Benedict still bugs me a little. Next up—Colin!
Book 3 and I LOVED this one! I think it‘s my favorite so far. I love the Cinderella-esq storyline. What keeps it from being a cliche are they characters! I‘m enjoying revisiting with these characters. It‘s been so long since I read them that they are actually “new” to me now. #romantsy
I finished one of my book goals for #MarvelousMay 📚 and that‘s something I feel good about! I really enjoyed this one; I love Benedict & Sophie, but sometimes Sophie‘s stubbornness and secret keeping drove me crazy. That was the only reason I couldn‘t give this novel 4 stars. I‘m enjoying the #Bridgerton series thus far.

📖 Bridgerton #3 up next!
….but I still bought new books today 🤪🤣🤷🏻♀️
📚Who‘s watched Bridgerton and/or read the series? What do you think? I loved the second series & book—even though they were so different. #Bridgerton #theviscountwholovedme #anofferfromagentleman
A Cinderella story! This one has definitely solidified Violet as my favorite Bridgerton! Yes, Benedict is kind of a prick in this one and constantly contradicting himself. I felt so bad for poor Sophia, but also admired her tenacity and outlook on life. She didn‘t allow her circumstances to break her spirit, and that is something that inspired me! Can‘t wait for Colin and Penelope‘s story next!
1. An Offer From a Gentleman (Bridgerton #3) by Julia Quinn
2. Def library holds, if you can walk into a library and come out without a book I‘m sus lol
3. Instructions for Dancing by Nicola Yoon

Filling in the gaps in my Bridgerton reading after watching season two! I love a good Cinderella retelling and this doesn‘t disappoint. Just good regency romance escapism. Now bring on season three…
