Classic middle school fun. Still awesome to go back to this after so long

My review is a little late but this is one of the books I finished for August‘s #TBRTarot, a book with a name in the title. Maximum Ride (known as Max to her friends) is the 14-year-old leader of a flock of children whose DNA has been spliced with bird DNA. These kids have wings and can fly, and their powers are growing. They‘re fleeing the evil corporation who experimented on them and raised them in dog kennels. This is the second book (cont)⬇️
I read an article a few months ago about this series being banned in Florida. I can‘t remember if it was in school libraries or all libraries. I was inspired to find out why. I‘m actually pretty inspired to read every banned book I can because I hate censorship! This wasn‘t exactly great literature but it was fun and I want to find out what happens next. And I want to piss off the censors as much as possible.
Suddenly, the flock learns that millions of fish are dying of Hawaii's coast and that someone - or something - is destroying hundreds of ships. when they are confronted with the most frightening ecological catastrophe yet, they have no choice but to go deep into the murky Waters. now nowhere is safe
Read this recently and it‘s still as good as I remember!!! Completely forgot how much I enjoyed this. Can‘t wait to go throw and read the rest
Thank you James Patterson for this series that got my 11yo reading again. Nine books in 10 weeks!
(This is a YA series but he is 12 in a couple of weeks and MG books were just not doing it for him) Fingers crossed I can find him some more series he likes as much.
For the year 2005 I selected this title. Fast read (as are all of this authors books for some reason) but I won‘t be investing time reading the rest of the series. Simply not my cuppa personally. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ #19822022 @Librarybelle
DAY 9 #BeginsWith Final I read this book just because I had it as a hard copy, it was a ride that u couldn't put down, never realized it was part of a series. Good on its own as well. @Eggs @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks
