Bananas. Often hard to read, because of its insensitivity and my own second-hand embarrassment…

My first Gerritsen read that‘s outside the world of ‘Rizzoli & Isles‘. I loved it💖 The tension & the setting were excellent. I will absolutely be looking for more📚🤓

CoverToCoverGirl Yay! A new series always a very happy circumstance.😊 1d

“In my opinion, the people who are happiest at the end of their life are those that have achieved a sense of peace in regard to how they‘ve lived, and who are comfortable in their belief about what comes next.”
My friend lent me this book. A low pick, but it has interesting stories about hospice patients. Vlahos writes about her patients, as well as what was going on in her life, & life lessons she has learned. My issue with it—she credits 👇

Scochrane26 a patient with saying something that caused author to stop the eating disorder she had for a lot of years. I was so irritated she didn‘t go to therapy at that point. 3⭐️ 5d

I really enjoyed this book which is written by a surgeon. I loved reading about the personal experiences and perspectives of this surgeon which were bursting with detail, pure honesty and emotion. I look forward to reading another book by Dr. Ruggieri.

Essential reading for those open to learning real statistics and hearing personal experiences, as opposed to hiding behind blind faith, inflammatory partisanship, or unfounded personal opinions. This country is being forced to conform to the narrow beliefs of a minority who refuse to consider the consequences of their baseless preferences. Read the source, instead of some twisted media interpretation (because of course they have twisted it).

lil1inblue I'm struck by how the last 2 sentences of your review could apply to *so* many issues in the United States right now. And I totally agree. Stacked. 2mo
TieDyeDude @Amiable Thanks for sharing. This book came out post-Kavanaugh, but before Roe was overturned. She does contemplate what the overturn of Roe could mean for abortion rights, and nailed it, unfortunately. 2mo
TieDyeDude @lil1inblue Too true. I added the last line because, since much of her research was published in scientific articles before the book came out, she talks about people taking certain lines out of context to support their own bias. Pathetic. 2mo
