⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️John Scalzi is always a delight and a wonderful comfort read. High adventure, heartwarming with lots of laugh at his snarky humor. I intend to definitely complete this series.

Book #12 of 2025: “All the Way to the Gallows” by David Drake.
Three tries and 68 pages in and I quit. I hate it. 🤷🏻♀️
Some great short stories. Very enjoyable. And the Horus Heresy arc marches on.
Interesting space opera where humans use artificial constructs to upload into to fight a war against aliens. Interesting concepts, mystifying aliens and weird artefacts. What's not to like.

June 2025 Reads: 8 books. Mostly thrillers that are tense and mysterious. I really liked Old Man‘s War. My least favorite was Polybius.
I did not expect John Scalzi's book to be my favorite for June. I need to read more of his books.

I was skeptical at first since this a genre I don't particularly enjoy. Boy, I was wrong!
I highly enjoyed this book. It was fun and heartwarming. I chuckled at the funny parts and teared up for the MC's love his wife. Who would have thought I would enjoy a military sci-fi book?

This is a hilarious science fiction story. Do you want to join the army knowing that you could possibly live a younger life?
