Book 2 in the trilogy. Brandon Sanderson can write fantasy like no other. Love that his world building includes our worldly problems/feelings within his characters story. Will finish this trilogy. Vin and Elend are a perfect couple without the fantasy “couplings” that are so overdone anymore!🤪😝

The first game we played on our new gaming table? Mistborn: the Deckbuilding Game! I am very bad at this game but really enjoy playing it 😂

Meshell1313 Awesome! 🙌 1mo
rabbitprincess @Meshell1313 There are four playable Mistborns, each with different abilities, and you can play battle style against each other or go co-op to defeat the Lord Ruler. My spouse is extremely good at optimizing/min-maxing so I am probably never going to win this game, but it‘s still loads of fun 😂 1mo

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Several years ago, I checked out “Mistborn” from my local library and ended up DNFing it about 240ish pages in. As I‘ve gotten more into Brandon Sanderson‘s books this year, I decided to give “Mistborn” another try and I‘m very glad I did. I appreciated the world-building so much more this time around, and the ‘heist‘ and found-family feels solidified it as a great read. Overall, I‘m so glad I gave this book another chance!

The Mistborn deckbuilding game came back in stock at my local-ish game store. Now I can channel my inner Vin and burn metals and fight baddies 😎 #CosmereBuddyRead

What an ending to the first Mistborn trilogy! It was such a ride. And now I want to read the trilogy again to see all the clues that must have been there from the beginning.

Wow. I‘m okay with how it all ended. And I love that it wasn‘t predictable. But I‘m kinda sad about it, too. I can‘t wait to hear what you all think. I‘m looking forward to starting Warbreaker. I‘ll post the schedule in a bit. Just deciding how to split it into parts.

Meshell1313 Ok what do we think? Was it always supposed to be Sazed? I‘m not happy with the ending, but I‘m satisfied! Know what I mean? 5mo
JacqMac @Meshell1313 I mean, it makes sense that it‘s Sazed, so I‘m okay with it. But I really wasn‘t expecting it to be. Maybe I missed some clues. I think I might find myself rereading the whole trilogy one day. I think I might find things that I missed. 5mo

Meshell1313 @JacqMac yes-like he was probably giving away all the clues if we only knew what to look out for! On to the next! 💕 5mo
rabbitprincess @Meshell1313 I totally know what you mean! @JacqMac I‘d be totally down to rereas the trilogy someday! 5mo
rabbitprincess I literally gasped out loud (on the bus 😅) at what happened to Elend, especially because of how directly and simply it was stated. I found Sanderson consistently good at that casual shock throughout the trilogy. High stakes, real consequences. But lovely moments too, like the flowers 😭😭😭 5mo
JacqMac @rabbitprincess Right? I love Sanderson‘s style. That was such a beautiful ending for Vin and Elend. 5mo
Andrew65 I got way behind due to life and some health issues. Trying to play catch up. Currently half way through Hero Of Ages and hope to be caught up before every one finishes War Breaker. 4mo
JacqMac @Andrew65 It‘s so annoying when life gets in the way. I‘m sure you‘ll catch up without a problem. 4mo
Andrew65 Finished the trilogy and moving onto WarBreaker today. 4mo
Leniverse @Meshell1313 @JacqMac @rabbitprincess @Andrew65 Ok, I had actually wondered if it would be a cyclical end of the world scenario. The world having to end so it can begin again. Because it was just so messed up, beyond repair. And I loved all the symbolism, including them all coming out of the holes in the ground like a rebirth in the end. So while I'm upset by all the character death, it made perfect sense. Continued ⤵️ 4mo
Leniverse As for who was the Hero of Ages, I remember a conversation in, I think the second book, about how maybe it was any number of people who could become the Hero. For a while I thought it was Elend, because he fit too. Including leading an army of allomancers to the Homeland. In the end it took all three of them to fulfill all the prophecies. A holy trinity of genders, if you like. 4mo
Andrew65 @Leniverse That‘s a very good point. 4mo
Meshell1313 @Leniverse yes to everything you said! I kept thinking I wasn‘t happy but I was satisfied. 😂 great points about the symbolism of the ending! Love that! 4mo
JacqMac @Leniverse yes! The holy trinity. Perfect. 4mo

-I‘m right handed. It‘s really weird that arthritis is hitting my left hand so much harder.
- No, it isn‘t. That‘s your book holding hand.

Ugh… IT‘S MY BOOK HOLDING HAND.

Anyway, I‘m not putting this down until I finish it.

Meshell1313 Oh noooo! And his books are heavy! 🥺 5mo
ChaoticMissAdventures oh no!! Hope you feel better soon - find something that gives you relief! One of my friends I read with at my local cafe has been trying to get through one of his series for 2 years, every week I have a different book and Jenny luggs in her Sanderson 😂 5mo
