Despite the ending, this book is mainly fun. In the next books it gets much darker. My favorite part is when Hermione catches Rita Skeeter and the niflers

What...did I just read? The writing is beautifully descriptive but the Washington family is a nightmare! I've rarely encountered more selfish and unrepentant characters but they, and their home, were vividly imagined. Reading this felt like a dream.
ETA: Bailey, my son's doggo, was keeping me company and enjoying the air with me.

Haven‘t read a short story since taking English in college several years ago ... gotta say, I kind of missed this format! Quick enough to finish in an afternoon, but still leaves you thinking. F. Scott Fitzgerald is always a 💎

I just finished this one today and it was absolutely fantastic. Fitzgerald manages maintain a “Gatsby-like” essence in this book as his description of needless extravagance and material excess is nothing short of mesmerizing. It was like reading a mixture of Gastby, The Most Dangerous Game, and Oceans 11. Such a fun, short read! Only 115 pages!

Ms.Bursey I heard it was super good !! I definitely have to check it out now 5y
DrSpalding I am proud of your additional readings! I truly enjoyed the Great Gatsby. 5y

A tiny cheat for #192019 - Howl was published in 1956 ... but the graphic novel didn‘t happen until 2010 (don‘t quote me). Still, I‘m glad I read it in this format - it‘s exquisite - a perfect companion to the poem.

GatheringBooks oooh looks nice! graphic novels are perfect for #24in48 5y

This was a lot more philosophical and sexual than I thought it would be. I listened to it on audiobook and I feel that did it a disservice as many of the passages are ones that need to be studied and thought over. I‘ll probably come back to it again sometime, or else look up an analysis on it.
