This was a cute, fun read, with a small plot twist that actually got me. Picked this up cause the cover art caught my eye. (Not going to lie, I will totally judge a book by its cover, especially a kids book—I love good illustrations!) #MordecaiReads

I‘m a sap but this book made me cry multiple times. My second favorite so far in the series (I‘ve liked the first best) and the storyline/conflicts were a lot easier for Mor to understand, though still led to good conversations about death, relationships, etc. #MordecaiReads #audiobook
Been waiting to share HP for so long! I think he was confused a bit by so many characters, but still definitely enjoyed it. Waiting a bit for book 2, then might add another book every year? I think that‘s my plan. I wanna share them all with him now, but they get so dark as they progress. #mordecaireads
Mor‘s least favorite. Focused on the middle girls (11-13) growing up and less on the youngest, so a lot of it went over Mor‘s head, nothing inappropriate, he just doesn‘t get crushes and takingnon extra responsibility. But he still loves the Penderwicks (which always baffles me a bit since it‘s not at all like his usual science/fantasy type pics). #mordecaireads
Another #mordecaireads that I forgot to snap a pic of. We read this one for homeschool book club (and then no one showed up 🤦🏻♀️) and...I understand why they picked it but it was not at all up Mor‘s alley. Also written in poem form with switching narrators so it was really hard for him to follow what was happening. Led to good discussions about immigration and conservation, but in his words, “We read that boring book for nothing!?”
I think I preferred this one to the other two, but Mor is bummed that the series is over. But is excited that I‘ve let him start recording “book reviews for his own YouTube show” (videos have yet to be shared but I am always impressed with how much his 5-year-old brain actually pulls in from our chapter book readings. #mordecaireads
Must have forgotten to snap a pic of this one before I returned to the library. No complaints from the kids, but this was my least favorite of the three. #mordecaireads
Not a bad middle school read. So-So rating from me. Mor and even my 3-year-old twins loved. #mordecaireads
