Reggie You did great!!! 4y
Texreader Congratulations! I didn‘t finish the nonfiction challenge despite a huge effort. Some of the topics were just too hard for me to find books I‘d actually finish. 4y
Bookzombie @Reggie Thanks! ☺️ 4y
Bookzombie @Texreader Thank you! Yeah, I sort of just stopped looking at the card. 😏 4y

I saw Michele Filgate, Melissa Febos, and Bernice McFadden speak about their essays at the San Antonio Book Festival in April and was happy to finally get to the book. I think overall this is a great collection. A few made me smile and others brought tears to my eyes. Over the last few months circumstances have made me think about my mother and our relationship a lot. I don‘t think that this book could have come along at a better time for me.

Bookzombie Read in September. #nonfiction19 (edited) 5y

I have read all but one of Chelsea Handler‘s books and this is probably my favorite. Chelsea deals with more serious issues, like the grief over losing her older brother when she was nine and becoming a more empathetic person. I definitely recommend the audio as you could hear the emotions in her voice. The book is also full of humor. I laughed so hard during the parts about her and her dogs. #nonfiction #nonfiction19

I was aghast several times while I listened to this book. I guess I forgot or maybe didn‘t know the details of the Salem witch trials. It is a short one, but Jackson does a great job of moving the story along, even with all of the details. The narrator is perfect. #authoramonth #nonfiction19

Soubhiville Another one I hadn‘t heard of! I‘m glad you liked it. 5y

Book 1 of #SummersEndReadathon - Loved it! Both a memoir of O‘Meara and a biography of Milicent Patrick, designer of the monster in The Creature From The Black Lagoon. Patrick‘s life is fascinating. O‘Meara also does a great job of showing how little things have changed from 1950‘s Hollywood to now. #nonfiction19 #readingwomen #readingwomenchallenge #pickedbecauseofthecover

This book was excellent. I was caught up in the lives of the Donner Party. I can‘t imagine having the will to set out on such a journey. Brown brings life to each of the people, and their suffering and losses are heartbreaking. #Booked2019 #nightorientedtitle #nonfiction19

Read in July.

I also thought a lot about Alma Katsu‘s The Hunger while I read this. I felt like I could see how she came up with her horror story.
