This is a cute and light summer romcom, but for some reason I wasn‘t fully invested in the characters - I think maybe the relationship felt a bit rushed and contrived. 🎧
Modern take on "It Happened One Night"
Milli is on her way to Florida to bring part of her landlady's ashes to someone in hospice.
Hollis needs inspiration for his next novel and a week in Florida with his friend with benefits might help unblock his brain.
Flights are cancelled and they go on a road trip where Milli shares the story of Mrs Nash' Ashes and Hollis' ice encrusted heart might warm towards one specific pigeon.
This is the third book I‘ve read in a row with a love interest who has heterochromia…. Isn‘t it weird and fun when that happens?
I did a HUGE book haul last week (also got my new locally made super cute orange bag) and have been plowing thru so many good ones during my long weekend. I never want to go back to work 😆
I really enjoyed this contemporary romance featuring the world of high powered chefs and food culture. The main characters were well developed and the enemies to lovers trope was well done. Banter was on point! Also, the serious notes on her recovery coming off an abusive relationship were well executed. Overall, a great read! #romance
“Edward Stanhope, the icy Duke of Thornfield, likes his life in a certain order. Give him a strong drink, a good book, and his dog for company, and he‘s content. But when he goes to his library and finds a woman sitting in his chair, petting his dog, what starts as a request for her to leave quickly turns to a fiery battle of wits, leading to a steamy kiss that could ruin them both if they were caught.”
