I love how this author writes characters. This was about as much as I get into football these days. 😂

3.5 stars. Last book in this series and I honestly think it was the best one. My main issue is I think it needed an epilogue. I just don‘t feel like we fully got closure. Otherwise, there was a perfect balance of push and pull between the characters, both internally and externally, which kept me engaged.
3.5 stars. Loved the beautiful descriptions of the things Aris and Blythe made. The first 65-70% of the book was really fantastic, but the ending was so blah. There‘s so many questions and unresolved issues at the end of this book, that it‘s frustrating. I thought for sure there was going to be a fourth book, but the author said it was the end of the series. Boooo.
I‘ve been trying to finish this all year and I finally did it. It was good! I was injured and in severe pain after I started this book so I think I had a mental block when it came to reading it. The story was great and I was very entertained. I‘m a little skeptical about where Harry‘s story is heading but I‘m determined to get caught up with this series. At the rate the author writes, I think I have time 😆

My emotions are still high on this one. The angst was killing me. The burn was slow and by the end it's still burning. I need resolution, but I was left hanging. Do I want to read the next one? Obviously YES!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
FMC was annoying and I had no idea what the plot was supposed to be. Characters were one dimensional. It had good reviews, but that should have been a red flag I guess, lol. Damn you Goodreads! 🤨
This book was S-L-O-W. It was good, but closer to the meh side.
Things I liked: 1940s alternate world (I mean completely different from ours), the mythology, the main characters as rival journalists.
Things I didn't like: the pacing. The book was also mostly depressing (which is why I stay away from WWII historical novels). I needed more magic.
Sure there were some brighter moments, but they didn't last. Will I read the second one? Probably.

That ending! 😱😱😱 I can‘t remember the last time I finished a book grinning like a fool. The story started out as an unassuming murder mystery with some historical romance written in between a bit of the paranormal. While some parts were slow, when the things went down near the end, oh man did it SLAP! Fate himself effed around and found out! The first book in the series was 3 stars for me, but I‘m so glad I continued with book 2.
I wanted a little more from it. I wanted more helpful info on when you‘re actively experiencing inertia. It did have a good section on friendships.

There is a lot for me to unpack with this one. Lots of different themes:
-Letting go of the past
-Soulmates
-Found family
-Living life to the fullest
-lots of romance tropes ❤️
Overall I enjoyed it, even though it stressed me out at times, lol 😆
A solid pick.
I needed a light read and this one worked. I liked the message about being true to yourself.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
It had some good tips and ideas, but the methods do not work in all places and work positions. This is the kind of book where you take what you need.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Heartwarming and beautiful. It gripped me from the beginning. ❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️½
Definitely an over the top monster romance, but I expected some of it going in. My biggest complaint is the miscommunication trope. 🙄 It‘s pretty spicy!
Not horrible, but I‘m probably not going to continue the series. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
3.5 stars. I really enjoyed how original this felt. I think some things could have been fleshed out more, but overall a solid read. I did wish I had a map to help me picture the world a bit more.
A low pick but it was a quick read. The characters were good. Made me remember my trip to Savannah and Tybee Island a few years ago. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
It was boring. The characters are very immature and childish. A lot of telling and not showing. The big reveal was predictable for me. ⭐️⭐️
Good second book in what should be a trilogy. I‘m team Aaron all the way 😂 I‘m not into love triangles but this one I‘m opinionated on. Got a bit mired in the location details, but the pacing and action helped.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Didn‘t like the vibes in this one. Super depressing. The fighting ring with animals killing each other was a huge no.
Great ending! Started a bit slow for me but the pacing picked up and the twists kept coming. Loved this couple. ❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This series has surprised me. It just keeps getting better. While I‘ll admit some areas of the plot are a bit murky, the action and mystery kept me engaged. I love the characters. I can relate to Emilia in that all she wanted was to be at home cooking and reading. Girl same. 😂
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I highly recommend this duology. It was original and fast paced with likable characters. I can definitely say I haven‘t read anything like this before. ❤️
This is the book that got me out of my reading slump. It was a cute, fun, and romantic fantasy. I hope Kingsley the frog gets a bigger role down the line. 😂
This book, plus medical issues, put me in a severe reading slump. It was downright depressing most of the time. It was way too long and very repetitive. However, the last 200 pages were good. It might be awhile before I pick up the sequel. 😬
Could have been shorter, but this couple is adorable.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
MMC: Elias - loved.
FMC: Catriona- wanted to smack upside the head.
Loved revisiting the characters from previous books. Especially the first book Bringing Down the Duke, which is still my 5 star favorite. We are told Catriona‘s smart. I guess. The pacing was very slow. Honestly I feel like this story was trying to tackle too many issues at once, and the story didn‘t flow well. I wanted more details on the HEA. Not a vague ending for the couple.
I love this whimsical world Holly Black wrote. Nice twist at the end. 😳
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This story had me in tears a few times. Ella has so many struggles to overcome and it made the ending incredibly sweet and beautiful. Loved the witty banter with Cinder. I waited too long to read this, but I‘m glad I finally did. All the feels = all the stars. ❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
All the feels! ❤️ This one was even better than “When in Rome”, the first book in this series. Loved both the FMC and MMC. From Annie‘s introvert personality to Will‘s struggle with his past, I was so feeling it. While a big chunk of it was lighthearted and sweet, there were moments of emotional depth that just got to me. Loved it!
Why is the first book of the year the hardest? Probably because I‘m off of a two week break and back at work now 😆. The pacing was a bit off for me in this one but there was still plenty of action. I need answers! I‘ll probably take a small break before I read the next in the series.
To quote the heroine, “Like a Hallmark Christmas Movie, but infinitely more twisted.” It certainly was, and I loved it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Not for me. The miscommunication trope on steroids, plus it was very repetitive. A lot of going around in circles on the same things over and over again. Needed to be shorter. ⭐️⭐️
I enjoyed the whimsical aspects of this story. Especially the setting. Lots of court intrigue.
If you love fantasy romance this series is a must read. Love the dynamic between the couple and the world building is excellent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I love this series so much! I love that I got more of Desmond‘s background story and the events so far from his perspective. The author didn‘t completely rewrite books 1 and 2 from his POV. She stuck to the relevant information. I‘m tried of authors rewriting entire series from the man‘s POV just to make a buck on a story I‘ve already read. Laura Thalassa did it in a novella which was the perfect amount. ❤️
Whew! Finished the series!
I enjoyed the ride. My main criticism is the last battle went on too long and it started to drag for me. Aelin isn‘t my favorite character, but she‘s been through a lot so I can sympathize with her. ACOTAR is still my favorite series of SJM.
The main character was a bit too cynical for my taste. I was hoping for a better character arc. It was just ok.
I wished for more emotion and character depth. Things were just too convenient for the plot. I will forever love the first book in this series.
⭐️⭐️⭐️½ Almost a 4 star read. The ending felt a bit murky for me but I liked the characters and want to see what happens next.
🎃 Getting a fresh view of the world through my little one‘s eyes.
🎃🎃 Ok this might be strange but I want to meet the Miracle on the Hudson pilot Sully Sullenberger. I want to know how to keep my cool under pressure.
🎃🎃🎃 I like doing small things or acts of kindness that makes things easier for people. You don‘t know what people are going through and it makes a difference.

It was cute and creative. I have to hand it to the author for creativity. 😁⭐️⭐️⭐️
Light read, cute story. Perfect book for October.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Love this author and her well crafted stories. This one tackled grief, loss, and how to live again. Lots of great quotes. The romance was so sweet. Highly recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book took me by surprise! I was expecting a lighter rom com, but got a deeply emotional, poignant story. It‘s one of the few that made me laugh in the first 25%, then it was very toxic, then the last half was coming back from the brink. Building back trust and honesty to remember why they love each other. It was beautiful. ❤️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This one wasn‘t in the Litsy database. 😳
I wanted more fantasy and less theology. I can suspend my beliefs while reading a story, but this one just felt off. Something didn‘t sit right with me and it dragged the story down in my opinion. Even the relationship between Gray and Willow felt hollow. I still don‘t understand who Gray is or his motivations. I did enjoy some aspects of the story and it was pretty spicy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Laura Thalassa is becoming one of my favorite authors. I love the world she built in this one. I look forward to the next one in this series!

Needed a ‘J‘ title for my alphabet reading challenge. It was ok. ⭐️⭐️⭐️
