panI really wanted to like this book because of the cute dog on the cover but if I have to be honest with myself, it was pretty boring. Chowder is different from other dogs and he ends up befriending some barn animals, who seem to understand him. There's just not a lot of depth to this book.
At least the illustration is really good.

pickSo #thewildrobotescapes was a recommendation from my 11-year-old son (again, I love books that my boys pass along!). This is a worthy follow up to The Wild Robot. I love Roz‘s consideration through the novel of her difference and of her purpose. Another great book from @peterbrownstudio. (We saw him speak in the fall, and my boys were so taken with his description of his writing and his demonstration of his art.)
