Rot The Cutest in the World by Ben Clanton is a great read aloud for younger grades. It is about a potato who wants to enter the cutest in the world contest but slowly because insecure about the way he looks. This book is great to promote confidence and be happy with who you are. A great activity for this story can be found at https://www.wla.org/assets/Book_Award/WCCPBA/Rot%20the%20Cutest%20in%20the%20Wor....

BRaulerson The UDL guideline I would use is Highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas, and relationships. This is a great book to make charts with and talk about main ideas of the story and actions in it. The ESOL Strategy I would use is provide contextual support through audio visuals, models, demonstrations, body language and facial expressions. The actions Rot made could be acted out to help support the ESOL learners. #UCFLAE3414F19 (edited) 3mo
DrSpalding What a great book to read aloud prior to a performance or even a presentation! Again excellent alignment. I like the idea of a dramatic reenactment to assist English learners. 2mo

Naughty Mabel Sees It All | Nathan Lane, Devlin Elliott

4 🌟 I love that when I read this book I can hear Nathan Lane‘s voice and personality coming through. Mabel the dog has been invited for a sleepover. But after eating some potpourri she has been seeing double, and even monsters. She is going to save everyone from the monsters, as long they don‘t get her first. This was a wonderfully fun story with equally enchanting illustrations.

A whimsical entry for #WITmonth and #catlovers Chi is a newborn kitten who gets lost and is rescued by a family who lives in a apartment where pets are prohibited.

And for your viewing pleasure check out these 3 cats in Japan that have custom made hats felted from their own fur. 😸

#bbrc #a2z Letter Z #picturebook

My last and final #a2z book for this challenge, and I had to go off theme again due to my library's limited selection of 'Z' books. But it was a dreadful good time! 🧟‍♂️ I don't like zombies, but you can't help but adore Mortimer, and his quest for love. A fun book to finish off the first part of the challenge!

LibrarianRyan It‘s not just your library. There are limited z books unless you like cars. Zoom is a popular word for kids books. 6mo
4thhouseontheleft @LibrarianRyan There were two I wanted to read, Zero and Zilly, but our library doesn‘t carry them. 6mo
