I think this is my favorite Emily Henry so far. Loved that this book was really two love stories, and I was just as invested in the sisters one as the romantic one.

Cerebral, sharp, funny, devastating. I'm looking forward to watching the movie, and am thankful that it brought this author to my attention.
@DebinHawaii Aloha and Imbolc greetings! I got your book - thank you for all the goodies you sent, I love everything! I can't wait to dive into my first book of the rotation. It looks fascinating. 💚🤍

Right now all I want to read are stories with all the gothic tropes and I happened to unearth this from a pile from some long-ago used bookstore haul. The setting is the Hudson River, with a cloistered women's college, a mental institution, and the ruins of an abandoned estate. Involves lots of art, Greek mythology, old family secrets, a murder mystery.
Alma Katsu handles the subgenre 'historical fiction with a supernatural twist' so well. This is a dual timeline story of voyages on the Titanic and the Britannic, its sister ship, when it was used as a hospital during WWI. I enjoyed the morally ambiguous characters, strange occurrences, and knowing that people are doomed but waiting to see exactly how it plays out.
I loved this 1920s romance/mystery trilogy. Loved the main pairing, and their fabulous besties, the conspiracies, the banter, the adventures.
Last night I went to a release event for Dracula Daily. Matt Kirkland, who lives in my town, gave one of my favorite author talks I've ever attended, laughed so hard I cried. The library also gave a free copy of the Penguin Dracula to every attendee, as it's been chosen as the Community Read. I'll have to try to fit this in somehow this fall. 😂 I 🖤 the pin.
I enjoyed this quiet little escape to the seaside with the Stevens family. Spending time with each person individually kept it fresh throughout, and I loved all the little details of what a holiday in Bognor Regis in the 1930s was like.
This is on its way back to you @Deblovestoread, thank you for sharing it! @TheAromaofBooks @Maggie4483 #LMPBC
Mikala, thank you so much for sending this to me! An escape to the country is something I really need right now. 😄 @Laughterhp
Charming and delightful, a supremely cozy read. 😌 A great pick for our #lmpbc @TheAromaofBooks. You should have this Wednesday, @Deblovestoread.
@Maggie4483
Two packages into the post box today! Sorry for being a bit late! 🥴

@Gissy Thank you so much for your package! I am in love with this set of wooden magnets of the Chinese zodiac, I have wanted to learn more about the Chinese system and these are also adorable! The "Notes for the Night" journal will also be very useful - I've had The Night School in my TBR stack. ? #travelingstars @StaceGhost
Hi #GroupL! These are the books I have that I think will fit the bill for more light hearted reads. This group caught my eye because I've long wanted to read Georgette Heyer, but I know Sarah also proposed one, so I will not pick it if you go with that one! I'll tag the others in comments. @TheAromaofBooks @Deblovestoread @Maggie4483 #LMPBC
Jenny, your card in the post brightened my day immensely! Thank you so much for the info on The Chariot and its relationship to Cancer, there is a lot for me to chew on there. And I love that this little Chariot card has a cat! I don't know much at all about Norse mythology but I do know about Freya's chariot being pulled by cats because of a Tori Amos lyric reference that once sent me searching. 😄 @jenniferw88 #travelingstars
@catiewithac Thank you so much for the beautiful calendar! Also, a belated happy birthday! I hope it was good 🥳

Today's the most exciting book day I've had in ages. Besides a gifted book that I very much wanted, I also picked up these two preorders. Super excited about Hell Bent and trying to decide if I want to reread Ninth House first or not... 🤓
Mikala, thank you so much for the lovely package! 🤩 I'm looking forward to reading this with the #literarycrew buddy read! I love the socks and journal too, they're perfect. 🤗
@Laughterhp
Such a good series. I really enjoyed Frank Mackey's POV. Audio narrator was very good - almost too good at the characters who are meant to be grating - but that made it a more immersive experience. 😆
My copy of Middlemarch is a yellowed old Wordsworth mass market dated 1994 that I got from the used bookstore about ten years ago. At least it's lightweight for its size! Have been wanting to reread this for a long time.
#pemberlittens @BarkingMadRead
Recommended on audio because of the inclusion of recordings of the author's conversations with friends, scientists, etc. Learned some fascinating things about grief and loneliness and their effects on the body.
Charming and life affirming. The audio version is great if you like audiobooks; the narrator for Marcellus the 🐙 is perfect. 🤌💯
@slategreyskies This #yulegiveaway is so lovely of you! 💜 Thanks for the tag @BookwormAHN @Chrissyreadit @StaceGhost, I think you all got every witch that I know 😄
I read The Kitchen God's Wife at least three times when I was about 18-20 years old. I can hardly remember any of it now or why I was so into it; but I think about revisiting now from a different life stage.
Have read An Echo in the Bone and Written in my Own Heart's Blood four times, all rereads by audio. 🎧

Enjoyed this thriller even though the MC drove me crazy. The author's narration was great; not surprised to learn afterwards she's an actress too.
Dinner at the park with my library book was a good decision.
🧺 Lake Tahoe
🧺 My friend who lives in Texas and I miss 🥲
🧺 Cheeses, deviled eggs, pita bread and hummus, strawberries, gin and sparkling water. And a chocolate layer cake!
Thanks for the tag @Chrissyreadit and yesterday @StaceGhost 🤗 @MoonWitch94 #thoughtfulthursday

"The Thing About Brandon's Flannel Waistcoat"
A timely continuation of the discussion of Colonel Brandon's underwear on the 12/2/21 episode of The Thing About Austen podcast. ?

Ready for the read-along with audio options from Joanne Frogatt (love her) and Michael Kitchen (the only male narrator I found, interestingly; also an actor I enjoy). One of the things I remember from my previous reading is sections of dialogue written in heavy dialect that I could hardly decipher, so I'm looking forward to the audio for that! And I still have my old paperback too, just in case. 😄 @Crinoline_Laphroaig @sprainedbrain
Fun bits from Goodreads Year in Books. I enjoyed all of these very much. 🤓
Just finished my last book of 2021, which I've been reading throughout the year. ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I love John Lewis-Stempel. Haven't picked a 2022 yearlong read yet but might very well be another JLS.
Favorite holiday card ever! My friends should be a rom-com novel 🥰
Christmas Eve and going to be 73° in northeastern Kansas. What is happening. 🥵 It's a iced treat for me while I do my last preholiday errand and listen to BEES in the car. 🧑🎄 Merry Christmas, all!
Mikala! Thank you so much for the Christmas package! I am so delighted with these books! 🤓❤️💚🤗
Merry Christmas!
@Laughterhp
Chasity, thank you so much for this amazing #jolabokaflodswap package! Love the book pick, and the rest is soooo nice. 🥲 The bookmark is personalized with my Litsy handle too, y'all. ❤️💚❤️💚 This is just lovely, thank you!! 🤗 @chasjjlee
Thank you Chelle for hosting this tradition @MaleficentBookDragon ❤️💚
For my cousin (11) and looks so good! The book itself is also beautiful, the windows are cutouts in the dust jacket and the actual hard cover has the house printed on it, and a map on the end paper. 😍
This is for my cousin (11) and I want to read it 🤓🔎
Yes, I'm still wrapping gifts but at least my shopping is done! 🥴 These are for my dad and represent two of our areas of interest that overlap, so I hope he will love them.🤞
Finally made it to the post office today with my #jolabokaflodswap package! 😅 @MaleficentBookDragon
Received my #jolabokaflodswap package today! 😄

Another fun one from Grady Hendrix! Got a bookplate for buying this after his event with the local bookshop. 🖤🖤🖤 His online events this year and last have been a highlight of my pandemic online book life.
Resting after an exhausting week. I think, It's such a pretty, early-autumn day; I'd like to read about a Ren fair! Surprised and delighted to find no hold queue standing in my way. 🙏🍁🍂☀️
A sweet, easy read. The first half is an imagining of Frederick's falling in love with and losing Anne back in 1806; the second a retelling of the events of Persuasion from Wentworth's perspective.
It's a low pick for me. The author doesn't measure up to Austen (not expected of course!). I enjoyed the second half more, following JA's plot and using her dialogue.

🤩 Go Tell the Bees That I am Gone
💫 Good news at work this week!
#wondrouswednesday @Eggs
I just finished this. Obviously, it's a very hard read, emotionally, but I'm so glad I did. The author did an incredible job organizing these many voices speaking of their experiences that day and after. From the terrible to the beautiful, their words will stick me.

Made my first visit to The Raven's lovely new location this morning. My friend and I took turns stroking a snoozing Dashiell and were rewarded with hearty purring. 😻

Bookmarks aren't one of the things I usually collect as I travel, but I did pick some up at the Library of Congress (2013) and Glacier National Park (last week!).
Haven't been to Windsor Castle yet, but likely someday!
