“Because the future champion of children's books was just a lad.“
“Because the future champion of children's books was just a lad.“
I would use this in an upper elementary grade classroom. This would be a perfect book to introduce the importance of children's books and why we have them today.
A great story of how children's came to be. Does a great job of explaining who John Newberry was and why children's books are so important. Children in school will love learning about John Newberry!

A new month is almost here and so is a new challenge from me and @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks ... and this time, we decided to leave it in the hands of fate. Okay, it wasn‘t really fate, but a random word generator! 🤣
Interpret the prompts however you like and show us your images and quotes...we love seeing them!

#NFNov Book 17 finished. Bingo prompts: Book about Books
A cute picture book about John Newbery who wrote the first children's books. The Newbery Medal & Honor awards were named after him.
#TIL John Newbery was British, not American. Little goody-two-shoes was not just a saying, it was one of the books that he wrote.

Just went to the #PNBA #bookseller trade show and brought back a #bookhaul! My favorite lucky hit was Underland which I have been salivating for...
Thank you #publishers, and Robert MacFarlane!
Books are my bag, but also my JAM!
