This book is definitely the best in the series and therefore a great series ender. There is a lot of material from Angel‘s interactions with our favorite FBI agent that lays out groundwork and hints at possibilities for a spin off series - possibly featuring different “monsters” hiding in plain sight? I would love to encounter future Angel as a cameo in another series! Suffice it to say this whole series is definitely #RereadWorthy

✅ Checked off #AudiobookAndClean today, with my #ReadingBuddies! The first 1/3 of this book, was difficult, as always. But this time, it felt even more realistic and genuine. Rowland is a master at pacing. Keeping the plot and character development rolling, she develops the zombie world, politics, and personal histories in large strides that both surprise, and make complete sense, based on the ground work already in place. Absolutely #RereadWorthy

On my first read through of this series, I cannot tell you how excited I was to find that there was a novella for Laura! I remember reading the end of “A Girl Like Her”, and being like, “But — what about LAURA?!” This is a wonderful answer to that question! Her romance with Samir is just beautiful and he is just the sweetest of people! Talia Hibbert has me convinced that people who just want to feed you Are. The. Best.

I love the focus on building her friendships throughout this road trip / zombie spy rescue mission. And even though she‘s the least experienced and most undertrained member of their impromptu team her contributions to their adventures are pivotal and important and the detail makes sense. Angel levels up. The stakes are higher. Her friendships with the other Tribe members strengthen. We get lots of gross/fun zombie fun along the way!

It‘s been almost a year since my first read through of this book and on the second read, it‘s just confirmed that it really is the best cinnamon roll book out there! To those of you who say that you can‘t get a hot romance out of watching two adorable and good people fall in love, because “where‘s the tension gonna come from?”, READ THIS BOOK! I dare you. Talia Hibbert is absolutely brilliant and a romantic genius!

Angel,

Zombie of my dreams, you are the most kick ass of rebounders to ever pull up their bootstraps. Not only do you laugh in the face of destruction, you stage zombie fights at actual zombie movie sets, you fight evil corporations, and tell the men in your life what‘s what. You are a roll model for zombies and humans everywhere.

With love and respect,

Your adoring fan!

Soubhiville I‘ve got to read these at some point. The covers *kisses fingertips* 💜 4y
the.bookish.valkyrie @Soubhiville this series is so good! And Dan dos Santos is an amazing artist! He does Patricia Briggs‘ covers for the Mercy Thompson series and the Alpha and Omega series too! If I ever get as far publishing anything, he‘s my dream cover artist! 4y

Colin and Judd at last! And I don‘t know about you, but I have been waiting on this one for YEARS! I did a full series reread with this, and it was an absolute delight! A lot of things hinted at in this were brought to a head and while this did sort of feel like a series ender, there was lots of spin off material in the offing! So much love for this book and this series! If I were a shifter the San Andreas pack would be my dream pack!#RereadWorthy

Cranky, saucy, and sassy by turns Max is adorable (a term he would object to emphatically) and broken. If he hadn‘t already gotten therapy, predating this book, I don‘t think I could have believed how quickly he made so much emotional progress. But he did! So, his growth is beautiful. I love that his relationship with Bryan (such a big ol‘ cinnamon roll) addressed a lot of issues that make a love at first sight story less believable.

CoffeeK8 I really love when romances use therapy as part of the process for building a healthy self and a healthy relationship 4y

And the reread continues like gaging busters! This is the book that you start to really see how much of a bad ass Angel can really be! I‘m so stinking excited for the rest of this series reread! I‘m still not a big fan of Marcus, but I can see the purpose he serves. I‘m just bracing myself for how much he pisses me off farther down the line. But that too is totally worth it for the pay off! White Trash Zombie Apocalypse, here I come!

Angel, oh, my dear sweet Angel, how I love thee! According to Goodreads, this is the 4th time I‘ve read this book, lol! The story still holds up to time! I remembered that Angel did a lot of growing - book to book, but I forgot how much of a rough start she had. So much negative self talk. But the way she learns to identify and challenge those thoughts is a beautiful thing. And, as ever, so much hilarious sass! Now on to the next!
