Really enjoyed this trilogy. I‘ve been a fan of Lewis since reading the chronicles of Narnia as a child and he didn‘t disappoint me with this trilogy. The first two books were really beautiful, full of amazing imagery, and a unique view of outer space and different planets in our solar system. The final book took awhile to pull me in but it was worth it. Definitely will be rereading very soon 😊

Severnmeadows Such a wonderful writer. I haven‘t read him for many years, but his writing had a lasting effect - That Hideous Strength has stayed in my mind. (edited) 6mo

Way out of the normal read for me, but I‘m glad I picked it up. I found the writing a little difficult, some passages seemed strange and the dialogue a little odd. Overall I did enjoy reading it, but I won‘t be reading it again.

I loved this book 📖 love all the references to D&D and just...everything 😘What an incredible adventure and concept. What a message that “reality is real”. I foresee reading this one again and again, and perhaps rewatching the movie as well. Totally different from the book, but I still really enjoyed it. Reading is a challenge with this handsome bloke but I made it to the end with many interruptions from my boy Gatsby ❤️

Katei8 I was actually pretty upset when I went to see the movie 😅. The two are just SO different. And Daito doesn‘t even die in the movie!! 14mo
Books4Ever @Katei8 they are so very different and it did bum me out at first. I felt like to much of the core story line was left out and then I just tried to appreciate the movie as a way for other people who haven‘t read the book to see into the world that Ernest Cline created. Honestly I love the book and I appreciate the movie as an adaptation. There‘s not contest though, the book is way better 😊 14mo

Finally finished this one and I really loved it. It took me a little while to dig into the story and really get to know Suki, and I‘m glad I did. There are some really good insights into dealing with the loss of a loved one, suicide, and letting the past be the past. I would read it again for sure. P.s. my reading buddy is super distracting 😊

This book was a little freaky in the best way possible (think the handmaidens tale by Margaret Atwood) It‘s truly terrifying to imagine a world with women only able to speak 100 words per day, but disturbingly fascinating. This book is a read-in-one-sitting kind of story and totally worth reading multiple times.

This book is incredible, eye-opening, honest, funny, and sad. I have always wanted to read this one and now that I can check it off as read I‘d like to take some time to really think about the subject matter. I will just say that I‘m amazed by the wisdom of such a young girl and it‘s incredible that her story is still being read today.

This book was amazing 😊 Pierce Brown does such an amazing job with character and plot development. I learned so much more about Darrow in this book than I did in the original trilogy, and I‘m looking forward to Dark Age whenever it comes out 😊 and hopefully soon 😉 my reading buddy approves of this review 😻

This book was truly phenomenal 👍As a big fan of Philippa Gregory I‘m not sure I can give a poor review of any of her books, because she never disappoints me. This book is brilliant 😊 I love the story of the Pole family and especially Margaret. Even though I knew the end from the start, I loved every page. I‘m not doing this book justice in this review so I‘ll just say: if you like historical fiction, read it 😘 you won‘t regret it 😊

Amazing book :) I learned so much about religious reform and how dangerous Henry VIII‘s reign was. I‘m definitely going to research Katheryn Parr and search out some of her writing. This book was good to the very last word :) I loved it 😍 p.s. I‘m just on my break at work and fighting a cold, hence the soup, tea, and EmergenC beverage :)

Long time no post :( Philippa Gregory is one of my all time favourite historical fiction writers 🙂 and this book is amazing 🙂 Well researched and full of all that Tudor drama and intrigue 😉 not to mention some very descriptive passages about Henry‘s girth and various bodily issues in his old age, and some of it‘s pretty gross. Loving every page 🙂

I was underwhelmed by this one 🙁I really wanted to love it, but I just didn't. Trisha is a great main character and I really enjoyed her resourcefulness and her reactions to the challenges she faced. She is one brave little girl. King writes well, I just wish there was more about the creature 😊 Super creepy, lots of suspense, just needs more creature action in my opinion 😊I'm looking forward to reading more of King in the future 😊Random pic 😉

Wow 😊this book blew my mind. There was so much hype I thought for sure I'd be disappointed, but no, seriously mind blown 😊 I love Jason's character, how he searches for his family, perseveres after every disappointment, maintains his moral compass that could so easily be thrown out the window. An incredible concept put forth by Blake Crouch, a truly touching story everyone can relate to. Suspense and all the feels, so good 😊 Gatsby concurs 😻

This was a re-read for me to remind me of the story and prepare me for watching the tv series. What I wasn't prepared for was how much the story would move me. Offred is a complex character who hopes and fears and takes risks. The flashbacks to her life before are heartbreaking and yet I want to know more about her. I like the historical notes at the end, and I wonder what happened to her. Did she make it out? Was she recaptured?
