A Christmas Carol | Charles Dickens
post image
Mehso-so

Finished A Christmas Carol on @SerialReader - my second Dickens this year! I've got to say, he's still not my cup of tea! I found the Christian allegory to be amazingly overt, and just excessive. All in all, I'll watch the Muppets instead! 😂🎅🏻💯🙌 #sacrilege #ohwell

Reviewsbylola This was my second chance at Dickens and overall, I enjoyed it so much more than my first (A Tale of Two Cities). Maybe he is just better in small doses for me. 😂 7y
mom2bugnbee Muppets is hands-down the best version. My family watches it every year! 7y
HeatherBookNerd I struggle with Dickens too. Tried to start Tale of Two Cities twice and bailed. Maybe he's just not my thing. 7y

ReadingEnvy Muppet Christmas Carol is the best, if you fast forward through "When love is gone." 7y
Laura317 I'm pretty sure I'd feel the same way had I read it. I just watched the Patrick Stewart version with the kids, and we enjoyed it. 7y
readinginthedark I didn't feel like there was a strong Christian allegory, but I wasn't looking for one. Maybe a different classic author would be better if you've tried two and weren't excited? 😕 7y

I pick up a book from a second hand store only to find this horror within its pages! 😳 #whotreatstheirbookslikethis #sacrilege
