pickThis was such a fun read. Great little mystery with well-developed (for the reading level) characters, a cross between two of my childhood favorites: Nancy Drew and Harriet the Spy. Recommended reading for 4th through 7th grade. I‘ve enjoyed it so much that I‘m going to look for the next book at my library.

pickSuch a sweet book about a girl named Unhei who moves from Korea and is trying to fit in. Her classmates and teacher‘s kindness help her see that her name and heritage are not something that will keep her from making friends in her new school.

We have library chicks! I help with the gardening aspect of our school‘s agriculture program and somehow my duties have expanded to include the poultry as well… (it might have something to do with the fact that I went out and bought 6 chicks 🤣) Their brooder box is in the library and they will eventually move out to the chicken coop in our gardens. The kids are super excited for them to summer at our house! #schoollibraries #teachersoflitsy

We started our new 6th grade Lit Lunch book today and had a very promising start! I always open sign ups to the whole 6th grade whenever we start a new title and had 15 students show up today - since its a class of about 50, I'm pleased with that! #schoollibraries #teachersoflitsy #librariansoflitsy

A (probably unrealistic) glimpse at my reading plans for the next couple weeks... I organize a holiday book swap at work and like to give everyone who takes part a used book in addition to what their partner buys them. I've been setting books aside for the last few months as I finish one or come across them at sales, but I have a specific person in mind for each of these.
