Right book at the right time. Op shop find. Could not believe it. The illustrations are delightful and the words wonderful. For all people and all ages. Not just the kids. ❤️❤️
Sometimes there are some kids book that really can make you cry. This is one of them. A normal kid who is going through a tough time when his grandmother gives him a teddy bear where he can tell him everything and when his mother insists he is too old for the bear, he decides he is not. 4 ⭐ I like this book much better than Peanut Goes for the Gold. It rhymes, it has cadence, and the message is fantastic. You are gorgeous no matter who you are and us together are even more beautiful. I loved everything about this. The illustrations by Kamala are perfect. They show a diversity of peoples and abilities and thoughts and ideas and it just all together makes a great book for any age of kid.
3 ⭐ This book is fine. The illustrations are soft and dreamlike and while the story does rhyme and does have a cadence, that cadence is soft in areas. The story‘s about how everyone‘s different and that is perfectly OK because everyone is who they were made to be. I like the message in this book and overall it works well. But to me it‘s only so so.

Vibrant, joyful and positive. Being you isn‘t always easy. Having (and being) a good friend makes all the difference.
A strong message told in rhyme, with very appealing pictures.
Author is Jonathan Van Ness of Queer Eye.

4 ⭐ Susan Verde and Peter Reynolds are a bestselling team for a reason. Their books are colorful and heartfelt and have an important message that all kids need to hear. The message in this book is that “I am me” no matter what. That everyone is different and that‘s exactly the way it should be. That everyone is unique and have the things that make them special. And that no matter who you are or how you look or how you act I am me and you are you
