#translatedbook for #somethingforsept #septreadingchallenge @RealLifeReading
Originally published in Swedish, I do wonder if something got lost in translation because I found the story a little flat. Still, punk rock tween memoir graphic novels are a genre I didn't know I needed until I got this book from Landfall Freight (RIP)

Okay so for today's #septreadingchallenge I got my dad a few #weirdbooks for gifts. The book directly under that one is titled Hippie, and he also has Weird California. To take this photo I am standing on the edge of the top of the stairs on my tippy tippy toes with my phone held way above my head.. The shelves are 7ft and these are stacked on top.. So I apologize that it's not a better photo lol #shortpeopleproblems #somethingforsept

Absolute weirdest books I've ever read. So bizarre. The Southern Reach Trilogy is shocking, tense, and at times flat out terrifying. Four women (the biologist, the psychologist, the surveyor, and the anthropologist) are chosen to explore the mysterious Area X. As they try to figure out what is happening there, they become quickly disoriented and so does the reader. If you want to feel paranoid for a while, read these! I had a blast.

catiewithac Annihilation is fantastic! Authority not so much. I lost the motivation to read the final book. 8y
Titania Loved this series. Each book so unique in tone but mesh together to form exquisite weirdness. 8y
kammartinez I'm interested in the TV adaptation for these books, actually. Looking forward to seeing how they capture the weirdness of the writing in visuals :). 8y

Book to movie to video game to book again. Nah, this is the original text but the jacket mirrors the video game because it was published and sold with the video game. Yes, THERE ARE AGATHA CHRISTIE VIDEO GAMES! You're welcome 😁 #somethingforsept #septreadingchallenge
PS: beta testing Litsy for Android is on hold for tonight. It crashed and I had to uninstall. Tonight it's just the iPad and me ☺️

Suzze Glad you are testing it so we can get more Littens to join us! 8y

My first pick for books + a movie. I loved these 5 girls and I watched this movie over and over again. I loved the darkness of it and the subtlety. The ending was both surprising and a relief, but left me so empty I would have to watch it again. I owe this movie my teenage crush on Josh Hartnett 💕, my love of all things Sofia Coppola, and my inclination to blast Magic Man by Heart & belt it out, guitar solo and all. The book is pretty great, too.

KarenUK Sofia Coppola rocks! 📽💗 8y
