Swiss Artist Arnold Böcklin is most well known for his enigmatic Isle of the Dead, long regarded as a Symbolist masterpiece. Of his other works I find The Plague to be one of his more unsettling. It is apparently discussed in the tagged Eco book.

My first Tana French.It was a tough for me-I shy away from thrillers.I am prone to nightmares!I cannot ride with emotions when books get creepy, with soulless characters & an ambience of terror.Listened to this on audible & I think this made it harder for me- when things got to be scary I read from the book.Without the voices‘ tone & inflection,my fright became manageable. Characterization,writing,worth it.
