I really liked the first in the series, was just okay on the second, but this third one...I‘m not sure if there are any more, but I am done. The female character in this third book is a cousin to characters from the first two, which felt like a stretch to me. The first love scene almost made me stop listening to this - it seemed awful (can‘t give more details, or it will give away the story). The plus - Mary Jane Wells is superb again!

Definitely somewhere between a pick and so-so, but Christie's minor detectives are always kinda fun to visit. #agathachristieclub @Bambolina_81 #mmdchallenge #threebooksbythesameauthor

JazzFeathers Love the cover. I'm quite intrigued. 5y

So I am kinda speechless right now. And sitting with my mouth hanging open. I can't deal with how good, how beautiful, how exciting this book and the series as a whole have been!

Read it people!!

Moray_Reads I have these on my Kindle! Unread so far 🙁 7y
JoRead Now this is what I call an enthusiastic review. Thanks for the rec! ☺ 7y
Kalalalatja @Moray_Reads I was blown away by how beautiful the writing is, which can be kind of forgotten in fantasy novels sometimes. I think that these books are very different from other fantasy books I have read, and I can't wait to read more by Laini Taylor 👍 7y

First I was a bit confused by this book. Where was Karou? I didn't understand the need for introducing these new characters' point of view. But the further I got, the more interested I became in these different characters' experience of what was going on. Although my heart still beat a little faster when the chapters are from Karou or Akiva's pov. Equally as good as the first book without a doubt!

A book about a girl with blue hair, who collects teeth for a chimaera called Brimstone, who fights with an angel and lives in Prague - count me in! I loved this book, and began the second one as soon as I put the first down. The writing is amazing (!!!!), the characters wonderful and I can't believe I have waited this long to read it!

mcipher I adored this book and still haven't read the rest of them for no good reason. 2017, you are my year to fix that! (edited) 7y
Kalalalatja @mcipher sounds like a good plan! 7y
