“The magic knows what it wants to do… But I never know what it knows. Not at the right time, anyway. I‘d write it a letter, if I knew where it lived.”

Oh yes, Shea is definitely best experienced in the full rainbow. I love that Unicorn thinks Goat is pretty great, and Goat thinks Unicorn is pretty great, but there is something a little concerning about Unicorn putting himself down in the same breath that he's admiring Goat's qualities. Goat thinks Unicorn is great, but does Unicorn know that? Unicorn seems like a happy beast, so I assume I'm reading too much into it. 1/2

Robotswithpersonality 2/2 Just trying not to pass denigrating self-talk as a compensatory social maneuver onto the next generation. 🤷🏼‍♂️ There's a sequel to this book, so maybe that talk is resolved in the next book. Happy to go on reading colourful Shea adventures. 2w

Another Banned Book, reason- it shows the elf‘s butt. My daughter absolutely loved this book when she was little. She thought it was hilarious & silly that you could see the elf‘s backside. How people get from something like a part of anatomy that we all have to the point that it‘s pornographic is beyond my level of comprehension. It‘s a silly story & when read in silly voices that‘s all it is. I feel bad for kids who are denied the silliness of

ncsufoxes books or having books read to you in silly voices. We‘re getting past that phase here but my kids always remember us reading to them every night. They remember their favorite books (which I‘ve kept) 3mo
lil1inblue Stacking for the niblings! I cannot comprehend the ridiculous reasons for which books are banned. My brain just won't accept them. 3mo
ncsufoxes @lil1inblue I think the author has written a few more. I think there is one about a yeti & maybe a Christmas themed one. I sadly am no longer buying these style of books, now that my 10 yo has moved more onto chapter books. Such a fun book 3mo
lil1inblue @ncsufoxes Oh, wonderful! My youngest nibling is 7 months old, so I'll be buying children's books for a while. 💓 3mo

This is why I don‘t set book goals lol, summer reading is stressing me out 😂 bonus I‘m catching up on the series though.

I love this fresh take on Osamu Tezuka's classic story! The art is so smooth and really doesn't divert too far from its inspiration source in terms of design. I can't wait for the sequel to release and hope this graphic novel gets the love it deserves ❤

3 ⭐ First this book is too long. And there are so many ideas in here that it seems like a mishmash. There‘s the idea of being afraid, the idea of feeling left out, the idea of not fitting in. Towards the end the minotaur says they learned that black is just where all the colors meet seems to come from nowhere and belong to a different book. It‘s just altogether weird. I like the illustrations.
