Pickpick

Finished A Great Reckoning tonight. Very good, but I wished there had been more about the residents of Three Pines.

I think my next pick will be nonfiction. Arriving Today addresses something that intrigues me: the changes in the supply chain & consumer behavior. (What's with the weird shortages?) And I read an excerpt of Invisible Child that's enough to break your heart. Which to read next? 🤔

#Two4Tuesday @TheSpineView

1. Tagged
2. I love the series characters. It's like revisiting old friends, with enough personality changes/reveals to keep it interesting each time.

It wasn't the best week for reading. I'm loving the Louise Penny book, but I haven't had enough time to really get lost in it the way I'd like to. And the Kalanithi book I've been procrastinating on finishing, because I know how it ends. Hoping this week is better! #mystery #ThreePines #viveGamache #nonfiction #health

The plan was to start this tonight, but I think I'm too tired to read! I'll put it next to the bed just in case I can't sleep 😴🌲🌲🌲😊

Pickpick

(Poetry by Three Pines resident Ruth Bardo)

Love the setting, the beautiful writing, and the character development (within each book, but even more so over the course of the series). I thought a main plot element was kind of ridiculous, until I read the afterward and found out it was true!

CarolynM Crazy isn't it? I wish she'd put the author's note about it at the beginning. 3y
BookBosomed1 What number is this in the series? 3y
BookBosomed1 @TiredLibrarian Thanks! Not there yet. Love the series. 3y
TiredLibrarian @CarolynM I wish! I was thinking "yeah, right" ? for a good portion of the book. 3y

Starting this one after a long break from the Three Pines series. I remember why I love them so much; it's like revisiting a quirky but loving family. 🌲🌲🌲 I was going to finish When Breath Becomes Air, but I can't bring myself to do it right now. #mystery #ThreePines #ViveGamache

Trashcanman Is that a photo of you? 3y
TiredLibrarian @Trashcanman I wish! The hair is close but she has cooler shades 🕶 3y
JamieArc I‘ve had a long break and Nature of the Beast is my next one as well. Always love coming “home” to 3 Pines. 3y
CoffeeNBooks I just started The Brutal Telling because I missed Inspector Gamache and Three Pines! 🌲🌲🌲 3y

Day 9: #WishfulWednesday

I have multiple reasons for choosing Louise Penny's Three Pines series:

I wish I could write like her.
I wish I could live in Three Pines.
Bury Your Dead is also set in Quebec City, and I wish I could visit the city and the phenomenal libraries she describes.

Crazeedi Love this series 6y
Ruthiella I would like to live in Mary Ste. Mead but only if I don‘t get murdered!🤪 6y
TiredLibrarian @Ruthiella True, the per capita murder rate seems a bit high! 😳😉 6y
