This is not a substantial dive into the subject. The book offers brief overview of the major conflicts from colonization to wounded knee.

Snagged my #bookspinbingo with the tagged. The story is delightful, featuring a Seelie vs. Unseelie war between fantastical creatures that can only be resolved by a couple of doughty human kids. The art is delightful. No surprises but it‘s a good time. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Looks like I purchased this three years ago — Litsy says! 😊

Finally read it today 😳 It is a wonderful look at a dark time in history. Now I need to decide if this should go in my bin of Christmas books 🤔

I love me some history and I was surprised at how informative this book was about the horrors of the trenches and war. Since it's a Christmas book about the Christmas truce of 1941 (which I'd only heard about briefly) it does have a merry tone. Recommended as a read along #tmskellington #wintergames #holidayread

#WanderingJune Day 12: #Russians since Marc Chagall lived in a small Russian town before moving to Paris. As Fats noted in her review: “Inspired by Chagall‘s stained-glass windows. Through these windows, Chagall is depicted as a boy, a student, a misfit, a painter, a revolutionary, a master, and, finally, an old man with a rippling kaleidoscope of magic memories.” Her review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-klD

Cinfhen This book looks stunning!!! I‘ve seen his work and it‘s amazing!! 🙌🏻💕 6y

3⭐️ To me the end notes of this book were more interesting than the story. The story seems to wander crooked roads. But upon reading the endnotes, you learn that the style of the story was based of Chagall's own writings, and while I still find it odd and a bit unsettling, make the story more interesting, but not interesting enough for me to use in storytime.

So overwhelmingly excellent. Sweet, with an incredible message and so beautifully and carefully researched. I cried within the first 13 pages, it‘s such a perfect story of family and belonging and misplaced loyalties and FORGIVENESS and oh, please read it.
