This book is pretty cute so far! It's predictable but maybe it'll surprise me. 🥰

Missed one more piece of #bookmail in my previous post! Another mystery arrival from a publisher but it sounds great and THAT COVER is absolutely gorgeous. Those gold tears are shiny IRL 😍

vivastory Incredible cover! Reminds me somewhat of 2y

I‘ve never heard of this book, but it came up in my #kindledeals today, and it looks like it might be a possible candidate for #nunlit

jlhammar Oh my gosh, I hadn't heard of this one yet! Sounds great. Might throw this one in the mix for our 2024 #NunLitQuarterly voting (in late Oct/early Nov) if others in the group haven't read it by then. Thank you! 2y

I read this last weekend hoping it would get me into the romance vibes. It absolutely did not. I love me some spice but somehow all the sexy scene descriptions just made me uncomfortable. It would start strong then a weird sentence would throw off the whole vibe. Also, I felt no chemistry between the characters. Yeah, every single touch was “electrifying”, but that‘s lust not chemistry. Really should have DNF‘d this one.

It was predictable but I liked how it showcased an Asian male and an African American female. Seeing them both overcome their relationship roadblocks was sweet. His sister‘s reaction to his interference helped moved the plot and advanced his growth when it finally occurred. Also liked how they were put in proximity to each other so they could see how well they worked together.

HOTPock3tt Wow. This would be a great read for me being an African American female with an Asian husband. Would be nice to see MC‘s finally reflect us!! (edited) 2y
HOTPock3tt And people put up many MANY roadblocks 😓 Family, Society etc. Everyone somehow decides what happens between two people is their business and their personal mission to try to destroy: Just because those 2 people are different races 🤦🏽‍♀️ but we are married 14 years now! Nice to see books like this showcasing love overcoming obstacles 💘 2y
SW-T @HOTPock3tt First, congratulations on your 14 years! 🥰 Some older ones featuring African American females with Asian males if you can find them: Kei Swanson‘s A Drummer's Beat to Mend, and 2y
SW-T @HOTPock3tt Nia Arthurs has newer ones including Loosen Up To Love and another one that‘s a series starting with 2y

I love how the author combined money lessons with fiction. I read this book because my friend pestered me to read it. So I tried the book and I was shocked. I could not drop it until I finished it. I love the idea of smart woman lessons. You learn something in every chapter. The book is educational, exciting and so worth it. Check full summary at drollyscorner.blogspot.com
