Peak fall over here.
After reading Spooner‘s Post Millennial Gothic I am very excited to dive in to this one!

I can‘t be the only one who take great joy in rearranging the book shelves everyone once in a while right?
A little Saturday reading!
I‘m enjoying this so far, even if it feels like it barely scratches the surface of what was going on during the decade.
I‘m still enjoying this a lot, the essays are varied and interesting, and include enough modern or not typically considered Gothic texts to keep everything feeling fresh – I just wish people didn‘t rely so much on Freudian concepts when talking lit theory. 🤷🏼♀️
Any one else out here read academic writing for fun? 🤔🤷🏼♀️
This Edinburgh Companions To The Gothic Series has several books on topics I‘m interested in, but this seemed like a good place start!
Cold brew, cardamom bun and bit of Tuesday morning reading!
This is one I‘m surprised I‘ve never read in its entirety before. I‘m sure I came across bits of it in university, but that was longer ago than I care to admit. I‘m finding the book a bit dated, but given it lines up with and informs so much else I read and watch, I consider it a must read.
New in!! Excited for all of them, but probably gonna start Trainwreck first. I read Sady Doyle‘s other book in a day and have been wanting to read this since!
Not loving this so far - after reading reviews of it I was expecting that it wouldn‘t cover the “dead girl trope” as much I would want, and it doesn‘t it. But as someone from California Bolin‘s ideas, misconceptions and expectations about the place are so wrong and naive that she comes across as frankly stupid. I‘ll stick with it a bit more, but doubt I could ever recommend it to anyone.
This has been my read the last few days, and while I don‘t agree with everything Yarrow says I am enjoying it! It is also hearting to see so many of the stories about women who became punchlines and villains reframed and given the respect and consideration they deserve.
Some new additions to pad out the shrinking to be read pile! All slight variations on a theme and I can‘t wait to get stuck in! Starting Dead Blondes and Bad Mothers today!
Kicking off a long weekend by starting this book and getting into to the good wine! #longweekendvibes
A good book for quarantine, but possibly even better for everything that comes after. #howtodonothing #selfisolationreads
