The last in the Dust Bowl series, A Song Of Home does not disappoint. Pearl and her family walk through one of the most difficult years of their family life. At one point I gasped and closed the book, I just never saw that twist coming! I absolutely fell in love with Pearl all over again and I know you will too. I am honored to be a part of the launch team for this book and highly recommend spending some time with the Spence‘s. #asongofhope

This series is so captivating, I just love the world that Finkbeiner has created. Pearl, the 10 year old main character has to move away from the home she has always known. What she and her family leave behind changes everything. This book is full of plot twists and turns and will require you hold your breath from page 1.

You may not agree with the author, but you will certainly be challenged by her assertions. Covering topics from the church, post modernism and motherhood, this book will give you a lot to think, cheer or swear about. Easy read, complex ideas. I want someone to read this so I can discuss it!!!!

I love novels that teach me something new about history. Taking place in 1930‘s Oklahoma during The Dustbowl 10 year old Pearl discovers something that will change her life forever. This is a sweet story of a family trying to survive while helping others along the way. And although the main character is only a child, whose voice is expertly captured, there is plenty of conflict to keep you wondering what is going to happen next.

Where We Belong | Lynn Austin

Take an adventure with two sisters who grew up in the Victorian age but threw off society‘s expectations to follow their own dreams of education, travel and justice. Austin masterfully weaves history and fiction to tell a grand story. The heroines face danger, disapproval and the question, “What is my purpose?”

Lizzybennetgirl Rebecca and Flora definitely weren‘t typical heroines! I love how Rebecca especially wasn‘t afraid to dig into science, finances, and politics to answer the tough questions. 5y

The Mountain Between Us | Charles Martin

I believe this is one of the few books that will make a better movie. The last 1/3 of the books picks up and the characters become endearing but until then it's cold, snowy and they aren't moving fast. It is a quick and easy read. Wanted to be riveted but was only dimly entertained.

This book came with great reviews, however, they crashed in the mountains in the snow, there just ain't much that happens. Can see that this would actually make a better movie than book...page 175, still waiting to be wowed.

Princess-Kingofkings I really want to see this movie! 7y

What an inspiring story and beautiful picture book! The story of a mother's love, the death of one dream and the rise of another. A young mom whose world suddenly turns because her daughter was born with Down Syndrome, Kelly honesty writes about the struggle of accepting the diagnosis, the unrelenting fears she had for the future and the beautiful girl who captured her heart. An intimate look at mothering a special needs baby.

Have been a Follett fan ever since. This book is a beast in size but the story keeps up with the volume of words Follett writes. It did. It disappoint and gave me something to ponder with each new page turn.

A subject I knew nothing about, the Night Circus swept me away into a world that was completely new to me. So refreshing to be challenged with new characters, new adventures and new ideas.

Anyone else missing their college aged children who have been gone now for about 5 weeks? This book truly gives words to the struggle my heart is going through right now.
