Loving this regency romance with a little rivalry 🔥🔥🔥 When a young woman tries to secure her sister‘s future by encouraging her to marry a wealthy man, she encounters Mr. Wood, a man with the same plans for his own sister. #pemberlittens

Current Read! This is a sweet tale about a couple from the late 30‘s. Quick and entertaining read so far ❤️ The setting is local to where I live, and even mentions a real restaurant that is still in business today. I want to visit!

Although I usually choose to read regency fiction, this was a great read! It has a lot to say about grief, commitment, and exploring what it means to respect your family heritage. There‘s also a little plot twist I didn‘t see coming 😮 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

AmyK1 I really liked this series too. Love Lisa Wingate ❤️ 3y

Bailedbailed

The beginning read like a fast paced retelling of Jane‘s acquaintances and youth, but it began to drag as she found herself dealing with writer‘s block, loafing off of her family, and pouting. I just expected my favorite author to be portrayed in a more flattering way, even in her flaws. While I understand that this was part of her life as well, it could have been glossed over to allow more focus on the publication of her novels.

“I am too old to be offended by facts.” ~ George Austen, Just Jane. This is a loose re-telling of Jane Austen‘s life and publication of her novels. However, I think the author captures the essence of her observant nature and astute assessment of human behavior very well.

I finally finished! What a surprise ending... Fanny and Edmund ended up together. Who could have imagined! 🤣😂 All kidding aside, this was an interesting read, and definitely had me pondering what Austen was trying to get at writing such a heroine as Fanny. #pemberlittens

Almost finished reading this monstrosity of a book! Although it‘s not my favorite Austen (shocker), I don‘t think Fanny is as loathesome as some people say. I think Fanny has an admirable sense of self-control considering how abused she has been. While this is a more modern interpretation, I believe this book has a lot to say about anxiety and psychological abuse. #pemberlittens

Fanny is definitely different from other Austen heroines...

I know that this book is not everyone‘s cup of tea ☕️ but I thought it was extremely unique. The main character has a quality that is very unlikable, yet I found myself rooting for her and enjoying her journey of growth. This is such a colorful, vibrant story.
