OMG! Groff‘s writing in this book!! So many excellent quotes to pick from but this one leapt out at me because of its truth in spareness “Words were space carved out of life, warm & safe.” Yes. Absolutely. A thousand percent.

Got to meet one of my all time favorite writers on Tuesday. He did a reading & signing at a tiny little indie bookstore in GA as the first stop on his book tour. We had a lovely chat, compared Fitbit steps and he drew me a fox bc I had foxes on my shirt. 🦊❤️

Seriously loving Katherine Dunn's writing. The cover gives no hints to the bizarre and oftentimes disturbing contents with. When I first started this book I had to take a few deep breaths to plow through the awful strangeness of her characters' world, but once you're fully inside that world, you really never want to leave.

Reliving my misspent youth with Skippy & co. As adults busy adulting, sometimes it's so hard to remember how it felt to be kids, but this book is transporting me right back to high school like nothing I've read in a long long time. And it's effing hilarious too!

We believe the one who has power. He is the one who gets to write the story. So when you study history you must ask yourself, Whose story am I missing?, Whose voice was suppressed so that this voice could come forth? Once you have figured that out, you must find that story too. From there you get a clearer, yet still imperfect, picture.
