Hidden Bodies | Caroline Kepnes
Joe Goldberg came to Los Angeles to start over, to forget about what happened in New York. But in a darkened room in Soho House everything suddenly changed. She is like no one he's ever met before. She doesn't know about his past and never can. The problem is, hidden bodies don't always stay that way.

Christmas movies in the background, finishing Hidden Bodies. I wasn‘t crazy about You, the book or the series, but I wanted to know what happens to Joe. This book was better than You, but I‘d just give it 3 stars. Murder, sex, revenge and a little Love. I‘ll probably watch the series when it comes out just to put a face to all of these characters, especially want to see how they portray Forty and Love!!

Chab256 Oh Love...eek she made me cringe! 2w

I enjoyed this read, although not as much as ‘You‘. The relentless mocking of LA hipsters is entertaining at first, but it does get a little bit monotonous towards the end. I do actually think this novel would make an even better TV series than ‘You‘ though, so I look forward to that making an appearance! Overall a decent enough read, 3.5/5.

After reading “You” I was incredibly excited for this. Joe is different in this though, which took some time to adjust to, but once he meets Love, I begin to actually *like* Joe in a weird way. This I definitely a love/hate situation, it‘s a rollercoaster of not knowing how to feel at all, but I still would recommend it 100%

Hoping for a hat trick of picks with this little beauty! Joe is already well and truly back in my head! For anyone remotely interested in the words on my mug, it means ‘dear Guernsey‘ (there is even a song called Sarnia Cherie, which is a bit like our anthem!) - Guernsey is my little island home in the Channel Islands 🇬🇬

While the story is an interesting follow-up to ‘You,‘ Joe seemed to lose some of the intriguingly, creepy charm that propelled his character during the first book. He is still crazy and morally bankrupt in so many ways, but the story loses it‘s edge in the sunshine of Southern California. Love is a great character and she adds an interesting twist, but the book felt more like a transition between a first and third book than a stand alone story.

I was so excited to see a sequel came out for You. At first, the story was a bit slow but it got a lot better and definitely a page turner! Our bad boy Joe got vandalized and robbed and moved to CA to find the culprit. At first, he was subdued and literally only killed 1 person! I was like whoa... what is going on with Joe? But he came back and killed more people and the language started back up... Excellent read.

This sequel gave me a completely different vibe than “You”. It‘s much slower paced (some parts were down right boring) & less creepy. Joe seems like a completely different character. Also I‘m still kind of amazed this book ( & You) was written by a woman. The end really made me question my own thoughts & feelings...

Hidden Bodies was an enjoyable read but just not as captivating as You. I think part of what made You so special was that it made me feel incredibly vulnerable to the darker side of social media between stalking, FOMO, cyberbullying and online authenticity. While creepy sociopath Joe is still up to his antics, the storyline is starting to get too far fetched and knowing another book is coming takes away some of the angst of his getting caught.

I read and loved You way before the Netflix series. Hidden Bodies has met with mixed reviews here and while it was not as good as You, I liked it. Mostly because I enjoy Joe's head...the witty, humorous, narcissistic voice Kepnes gives this sociopath. Does Joe finally get his undeserved, happily ever after now that he has transplanted from NY to LA? If you read it, what did you think of Love?? 😕

It's hard to review this book without spoilers. The writing starts off excellent. You can hear Joe in Joe's voice (if you have watched the Netflix series 'You') being all psycho narcissistic and smooth. You marvel at his selfish crazy inner dialogue. It sucks you in.
The middle part starts getting tiresome and drags. Joe goes overboard. (Not literally, just so much...idk..I can't say what because #spoilers🙄)
The ending leaves you hanging.

I read and was appalled by/adored YOU. Heard about this one and thought I would pass since most of the reviews warned against it. Then watched the Netflix series of YOU and my interest was renewed. Put Hidden Bodies #audiobook on hold and when it came in, almost returned it. Bit the bullet and began reading it. SO GLAD I DID!! I thought this was equal to YOU in all of the horror/insanity. Joe was the same crazy person I know and love/hate.

I really enjoyed reading You, Hidden Bodies... not so much. You was dark and twisted. Hidden Bodies felt like a ton of incomplete thoughts rolled into a book that was far too long, and rather boring. Incredibly slow start, picks up the pace for a third of the book before flat lining again. The first book in the series engrossed you into Joe's world. You found yourself in a love/hate relationship with all the characters - perfectly flawed and perfectly human. Hidden Bodies felt so forced and unrealistic that I never connected with any of the characters and the story continued to be far fetched and unbelievable. #teamsleep for #hiddenbodies

This was... intense. There were times that the book just kind of dragged on through plot and the overall plot took way too long to unfold with little to no action. And there were some parts that weren't quite Joe. However, as I listened to this via audiobook, I never get tired of the narrator's voice and he is very Joe-like. He definitely kept me interested.
