I heard of this book on the “Tonight Show” so I‘d thought I‘d check it out. It took awhile for me to get into this book. I thought the concept was creative but I didn‘t love the characters. Overall, I‘d give it 3.5 stars.

I received this book as an ARC. I liked the plot of this book. As a middle school teacher, it‘s refreshing to read a story about girls working together, rather than against each other, to overcome some type of adversity. This book is definitely not for everyone (quite political), but the overall message was good. On the negative side, I think the book was a little too long and some of the characters were underdeveloped.

“Recursion” ended up being a great sci-fi read. I was happy I decided to listen to it as opposed to reading it because the story takes you through many nonlinear timelines and can be confusing at times.

Highly recommend this book if you are into horrors. The writing takes you directly inside the mind of Paul Sheldon during his time in the captivity of Annie Wilkes. Let‘s just say it gets pretty gruesome....

I received this as an ARC even though it has already been released in the UK. Honestly, this was not my favorite thriller. I felt that the writing was dry for such an emotional and disturbing subject. One positive was the twist at the end.

I finished this book before bed last night and my heart continued to race for at least thirty minutes after finishing. WOW. One of the better thrillers I‘ve read in awhile. I‘m definitely sold on Riley Sager‘s writing. His thrillers are fast paced and hard to put down. This book keeps the twists coming...even down until the very last page. Looking forward to reading his first book, “The Final Girls.”

I was I need of some thrill and man, this surely delivered. I don‘t remember a single dull moment in “Lock Every Door.” I can always count on Book of the Month!

This is one of those books you don‘t want to end. I‘m actually terrified to start a new book. “The City of Girls” is witty, smart and heart felt. The dialogues made me feel as though I was watching this as a movie. Warning: You will fall in love with all of these characters. Highly recommend and will be added to my top five reads in 2019. Now, what to read next?? 🤔

“The world ain‘t straight.”

Chris Rush‘s story of growing up in a complicated, affluent family is hard to put down. His struggle with his identity is ongoing, made even more unclear with excessive drug use and emotionally abusive, homophobic father. I really enjoyed Rush‘s writing. It was quick, slightly humorous and emotional. Also, I would warn that there is LOTS of drug use referenced in this book.

This book just landed in my top three reads of 2019. It was channeling many “Where the Crawdads Sing” vibes for me. I loved the characters and the way the author portrayed the wilderness of Alaska. “The Great Alone” is a memorable coming of age story focusing on the complexity of love and how it can be used to overcome the darkest of times.

I would classify this as a “guilty pleasure” read filled with love, deception and lots of drama. Honestly, reading this made me feel like I was watching a season of “Days of Our Lives,” BUT... I‘m not ashamed to say I liked it! Looking forward to book #2! 😁

I loved this book! Keane is a master storyteller. I was captivated by all the characters and their perspectives. Such a great book about love, forgiveness and the importance of family.

The Bride Test was a quick, easy and fun read. Definitely needed after tackling the Goldfinch. I enjoyed the interweaving between this book and Hoang‘s other novel, The Kiss Quotient. Her perspective as a Vietnamese American is refreshing and adds a lot of fun elements to a typically predictable and cliche genre. A great summer read!

Although The Goldfinch was a very slow read for me, I‘m extremely satisfied with the entirety of the story. If you asked me what I thought as I was reading, I would have no answer for you. I truly developed a love for this book during its final pages. Tartt posed many heavy questions for the reader and I have no doubt I‘ll be thinking about them for a long time. Also, bring tissues to the upcoming movie!

This was my first Hercule Poirot mystery and I was not disappointed. Can‘t wait to read more of his adventures!

Taylor Jenkins Reid is a master story-teller. I could not put this book down. I think Evelyn Hugo beats Daisy Jones by a long shot!

I now understand why they call her “The Queen of Crime.” I can‘t wait to read more Agatha Christie! I honestly couldn‘t stop listening to this Audible.

This book was the epitome of a beautiful tragedy. You will love the characters and the story. A great pre or post Circe read!

I won‘t lie, it took me a long time to get into this Audible listen, but I am so happy I endured. I fell in love with Eleanor‘s character in the last parts of the book. I haven‘t felt true empathy for a character like this in awhile!
