How can one not rate an Agatha Christie mystery anything but 5 stars? And especially with Hercule Poirot as the detective. I particularly love the cleverness of his mysteries. I was fooled right up to the end. Of course, I always picture David Suchet as Hercule Poirot, which just added to my delight in reading this book. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thoroughly enjoyable Hercule Poirot mystery. I guessed part of the denouement but not all of it! It was an original set up which i really liked. My favourite is still The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. And here are some autumn leaves for you from the Sunday markets 🍃🍂🍁

Finished another audiobook while driving through Iceland. I was thinking that this Christie murder mystery is a very psycological one which I didn‘t expect. Of course I did not see the turn coming.

What's this?
Another challenge for 2024?
*YOINK*
Don't mind if I do 😋😁
Only question is... what do I do about books that start with The? Are they T's or do they count for other letters... 🤔
#2024ABCChallenge

This was a good one. It had me guessing right to the end. If you like Poirot mysteries this is a good one to read. I love them all so I might be bias, however I flew through this one so quickly. It was a very quick read. Also I just read that John Malkovich does a mini series with this book. Might try and watch it. PS. Love this old book cover.

I thought I had figured it out but Agatha Christie got me again! I enjoyed this Poirot murder mystery, though not quite as much as ‘Murder on the Orient Express‘ or ‘The Murder of Roger Ackroyd‘.

Classic Christie. I don‘t usually read her Poirot books as I‘ve seen them so many times as tv series or movies. I enjoyed this especially the bits written in the voice of Hastings. Classic crime.
This was my fave read in the challenge so far
Well I‘m gonna say so far I‘m at a loss as to whom it could be and I‘m so loving this one

Reading and refereeing a “friendly” game.

There is a serial killer on the loose and Poirot & Hastings need to figure out who it is before more people die. As usual, I was oblivious.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Christie really shines in this one! A look at Poirot searching for a public serial killer instead of investigating a private murder, there were lots of twists & turns and when you think you know, ya don‘t know.

📚ABC Murders (one of my favorite Christie novels)
🖋️Ania Ahlborn (also Attenberg, Jami & Awad, Mona)
🎬A24's St. Maud (okay, I'm cheating a bit, but I watched this last night & I was both horrified & saddened by it)
🎤Angel Olsen
🎧 Ain't Killed Me Yet-Adia Victoria (hon. mention to insanely catchy All I Ever Asked-R. Chinouriri)

After a month and a half of rehearsing and performing in a play, I‘m now easing my mind and body back into normalcy with some tea and Agatha Christie. 🥰

I really enjoyed this Christie. It follows the formula, but with enough little twists to make it a bit different from the usual. I really like the metaphor of the pin and pin cushion, which I don't think is a spoiler, but I am ridiculously bad about accidentally spoiling things so apologies if I just ruined this book for you.

4. No question, I just really like this cover! Ca-caw!
#agathachristieclubR2

3. Many contemporary reviewers considered this one of Christie's best, and current lists also rank this within her top 10. How do you think this stacks up against her best novels?
#agathachristieclubR2

2. Christie uses techniques typically seen in thrillers rather than mysteries in this book. Can you identify how this book is different than her typical Poirot novels? (If not, I'll tell you!) Did you enjoy this difference?

1. Did you enjoy this book? Why or why not?
#agathachristieclubR2

Ughhhhhhhhhh #agathachristieclubR2 friends, I've super let you down. I read this book back in October and then promptly got so overwhelmed with committee work until January that I never posted questions. Between that, work, and travel, I've never gotten caught up, and I'm sorry for that. Can we reset? ⬇️

11/52: The ABC Murders
I liked this book a lot, it was a cozy murder mystery for the wintertime and the ending really threw me. I actually came across this book from the book “Horrid” I read earlier. Great book.

These are my most read authors of all time. What are yours?

I had a hard time putting this one down. An excellent mystery, one of the best I've read.

Another lovely mystery by Madame Christie. I'm always so impressed that each time she has a new way to tell a story. In this one, Poirot receives letters from an ABC telling him of his plans for murder. Each victim's name starts with the same letter as the town they live in. Hastings is back to visit this time, which I always enjoy. And as he recounts the story, he adds in the perspective of ABC throughout. It's an interesting dynamic.

Another excellent Christie! I saw the recent adaptation, so I was worried it wouldn't be as engaging ... turns out I shouldn't have worried! I totally forgot the ending.
I love audio puzzling! Haven't been able to do it for a while since I have small kids, but the husband got me a puzzle and some me time and it was heaven!!
#agathachristieclubr2

My husband is leaving for a week with his mom, so I decided to try to catch up on as much Agatha Christie as possible to keep me busy. I also grabbed Maureen Johnson's Guide to Not Getting Murdered in a Quaint English Village because it goes with the theme and sounds delightful!
I start tomorrow and go until the 10th. First up: The ABC Murders (which is fitting because I just started alphabet week with the kids).

Forgot to post my week 2 points @Clwojick - is it too late??
1118 for the week, giving me a total of 2488 so far.

It had been a while since I read this one, so while I had a vague memory of one of the twists, I couldn't exactly remember how it all came together. I really enjoyed the pacing here, although having the little group of relatives of the victims decide to come together and "help" with the case did feel slightly contrived lol Still good fun here. I had to take a picture of both covers of this edition since I love the quote on the back.

Yay!! #OutstandingOctober starts tomorrow. My goal is going to be 2700 pages!! Hoping to read the tagged book as well as the next five books in the Leaphorn & Chee series, but we will see how the week unwinds!!!
@Andrew65

Here is the upcoming schedule for #agathachristieclubR2, and this month marks me rejoining the club in real reading time! I'd read all of our previous books during the original #agathachristieclub, but now we're caught up and I can jump back in. Woohoo!
All are welcome to join!

Another fun mistery!
Although, as something of a serial killer fan, I found the killer a bit underwhelming.

No matter how much busy I get, I always find time for Agatha. Read this in one sitting😅, couldn't put it down. She is truly the Queen of Crime 👸

4.5/5 - This is the most fun installment of the Poirot mysteries that I‘ve read to this point! I almost feel guilty for having doubted Agatha Christie and all of the fans that claim that this is among the best of the series. Around 85% of the way through the book, it looked like things were headed for a rather pedestrian end….until the big reveal!

Finished this today for #AgathaChristieBookClubR2
This one was a reread for me. I first read this book in 2018 so I remembered who the killer was but it didn‘t take my enjoyment away. This time I listened to the audiobook because I love Hugh Fraser.
Also, it made up for the awful Amazon prime adaptation they made a few years ago that I hated.

I listened to the BBC Dramatization (though I didn‘t grab it on purpose), which is usually better for me than the books. I‘ve found that many of these “golden age” (and earlier) mysteries just aren‘t my thing. I liked the premise behind it, but this one still (even the dramatization) didn‘t hold my attention well enough to follow everything. It may have been better (for me) than reading the actual book, though

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description or reason for wanting to read the book. Some are old and some will be new. Don't judge me - I have a lot of books.
Day 335
#tbrmountain #bookbuyingdiet

Poirot and Hastings are my least favorite Christie characters. They both drive me insane. However, I found this mystery to be delightful. I do find myself thinking “well, that was predictable” because I forget that Christie is the original. 🤦🏻♀️ Regardless of whether you figure out the whodunnit or you remain as clueless as Hastings, this is still one of the better Poirot stories, IMO, with great secondary characters.

I really enjoyed this Poirot. I loved the cat and mouse chase between Poirot and the serial killer. Now to watch the film adaptation. #AuthorAMonth #LittenListen #WinterGames2020 #TeamReadNosedReindeer #BookSpinBingo +16 pts
