Annual rereading of Susan Coopers‘s Dark is Rising, the second book (and my favorite) in this sequence. A perfect little midwinter read, just in time for Will‘s birthday. 🖤
Stay cozy everyone!
I adored this book. I devoured it when first came out a couple years ago…the images it created , the exquisite storytelling and oh! The waves, the waves! It is one of those small but mighty books-It has stayed w me as a movie would- image upon image, senses all alight.
I recently discovered the work of artist Pablo Genoves and his Dystopia series (a few pictured above) instantly called to mind the wet, decaying labyrinth of Piranesi‘s house.
🖤
Continuing my obsession w T Kingfisher and sharing this image as I am unabashedly infantile in my humor. I get daily joy from this little trinket dish holding my bookworm clips. 🐈⬛❤️🖤
Time for the annual rereading of this unsettling gem by Shirley Jackson, one of my favorites.
🖤🖤🖤
Next (most likely, it‘s a fluid situation) in the to read pile. 🖤
Currently reading/trying to savor this one.
“Inside, the heady wood-dust smell of freshly printed books was overwhelming. If tobacco smelled like this, Robin thought, he‘d huff it everyday.”
My copy is bedraggled and so well loved. This little poetry book of hotness is the one I am most likely to throw in my travel bag…a sad, hopeful treasure by a writer lost to cancer too early. Antidotes to Fear of Death is nothing short of genius.
My first post on this newly discovered app! Just finished this creepy book that kept me shuddering whilst occasionally laughing out loud. Full characters that are relatable, otherworldly willows and taxidermy…only complaint is that Kingfisher may have just ruined my love of otters.
