Finally finished this today. I had to take a break due to...well, you know. I enjoyed the behind the scenes look at the making of Star Wars and the revelation of her relationship with Harrison Ford was a jaw dropper for me. Her journal pages reminded me of my own late teens-early 20s musings. All in all, a must read for her fans.

Another crafty period mystery. This atmospheric historical novel is set in a dilapidated hospital at a time when medicine was more of an art than a science. When a cutting edge Doctor is found poisoned, the apprentice pharmacist must battle her own secrets to discover the murderer.

Agatha Christie was my first adult mystery love. Her life in a graphic novel? I couldn't get my hands on this fast enough! The art and the biographical story in this book were spot on. I thought I knew Dame Agatha, but I certainly learned something and was entertained. What an amazing woman!

This is a lovely historical mystery. It's the fifth in a series, but the first one I've read and it works as a standalone. The puzzle was well done and all the seemingly disparate pieces were brought together in the end. I can't wait to read the first four in the series! Well done!!

Sometimes you have to give up everything you know and take risks beyond what you think you're capable of to discover where you're supposed to be, what you're supposed to be doing, and who you're supposed to be with. This was a lovely book, easy reading for a lazy day with happy endings all around. Perfect for book lovers!

Told in alternating time periods by chapter, this novel is a simultaneous look at New York City in the early 1950s and today and how the changes in society affect not only what is expected of women, but what they expect from themselves. The backdrop and history of the Barbizon Hotel for Women make it just as much of a character in the story. And the twist at the end is not expected!

Atmospheric historical fiction, set mostly in the 1950s in Italy and the Mediterranean, with some flashbacks to WWII. Two damaged people find that they do have the strength to share their secret burdens with each other. But they must be careful, since one of them is married.

The cast of characters in this novel are eccentric, and I grew fond of them. The descriptions of the locations their group visits in their journey are vivid. Well done!

Powerful, moving tale of how to continue with the business of living after suffering unspeakable horrors. Jaycee Dugard writes in a very conversational style, so reading this book, her second, feels like your having a series of chats with her over coffee. Her outlook on life is refreshing and inspiring.

"If we had jazz, would we have survived differently? If we had known our story was a blues with a refrain running though it, would we have lifted our heads, said to each other, 'This is memory' again and again until the living made sense? What would we be now if we had known there was a melody to our madness?" So beautiful! Such a hauntingly, beautifully written novel.

I don't usually read/like science fiction, but apparently all I need is for a library to be involved. I really enjoyed the mystery aspect of this story. I can't wait to read the sequel!

Omg! So good! I don't think I'm going to get much sleep tonight; I'll be up reading this. I love the way the story is unfolding, chronologically but from different points of view. And the characters are great. I want to be friends with just about everyone!
