"THE COURAGE OF WOMEN CAN'T BE STAMPED OUT"
This book was brilliant, the content was horrifying and heartbreaking but also empowering and courageous. My only complaint is Ronan Farrow doing voices and terrible accents throughout the reading of this really started to grind my gears, but i still rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I listened to this and I LOVED it!!! Having worked in kitchens I found many a moment thinking shit yeah thats so true, it made me smile and laugh with fond memories. I was a Fan of Bourdain's shows and it was so nice to listen to him tell his stories. Also made me sad that he is no longer with us. I highly recommend this dive into the depravity and the debauchery that is working in kitchens.
My son is at a friend's house, so this will be my afternoon. Rain forecast tomorrow, the housework can be done then 🙃 Bliss 🙂
Have not been on Litsy for a long time. So for my first back I thought my September reads would be a good place to start. A little late i know but close enough. I loved everyone of these and would recommend them all 👌
Tonight's reason for not getting enough sleep 🙃
Of course, this was awesome. I want to read all of the slaughter !!!!!! 😄
This evenings read. Super excited to be finally reading this one. And that cover 😍😍
This book consumed my Sunday, I read it one sitting , I just couldn't put it down. Taking us to a small country town in australia a year after a tragic shooting. The landscape is brutal as are the secrets of the people who live there. I loved it 😊
This was my first Karin Slaughter novel. I found out half way through this book that it is part of a series but it stood alone just fine and I LOVED it!! I am definitely going to go back and read the rest. I could not put it down. 😆
This series is just so freaking good!!! And now I am sad I have to wait for the fourth one 😣 and part of me wishes I waited and read them all together but then I would be missing out on the amazingness that is Sabaa Tahir. 😊
While I would love to buy brand new all of the time I just cannot afford to support my reading habit 🤑 I try to have a balance of old and new. So this is my latest second book haul. And can I just say I am very excited for Pride and Prejudice and Zombies!!!!
Picked this up for 20 cents at a thrift store today!!!!! BARGAIN!!!!😄
Dorothy Brooke's work to end the suffering of beaten and neglected British war horses left in Cairo after the great war, was inspiring and at times heartbreaking to read, more than a few tears were shed. She was a courageous woman whose legacy lives on through the people who have continued on her work not only in Egypt but in other countries that relies heavily on equine help for making a wage. An eye opening and interesting read.
This was the perfect choice to pull me out of a reading slump. I devoured it, hated to have to put it down. I enjoyed reading the entire collection but my favourites were Dogs go Wolf and Above and Below. 😍👌👏
So this was a delight!! The wait at the library was totally worth it :)
Cider and Atwood, not a bad way to spend sunday afternoon. :) #booksandbooze #blissfulsunday
