So far this is a very interesting mind twist of an introduction!

I feel conflicted because I thought it was very interesting, but I also wanted to get over with reading it. Jennette is definitely brave for putting her story out there and I‘m proud she overcame all she was went through. I appreciate her story.
A quote I really liked, “I like that I‘m able to get myself on paper. It simplifies things for me. When everything‘s in my head, it feels chaotic and jumbled.”
“I‘m off to Fantasyland.”
It‘s sad how reality can be so overwhelming and so painful, our mind adjusts to escaping and disassociates to get some relief.
Usually I post my favorite quotes throughout, but there hasn‘t been anything that stood out to me the whole time reading. Nonetheless an interesting read.
I‘m hoping to finish this book by this weekend!
🥸
It‘s been 2 years, and I‘ve missed it here. These passed 2 years have been constant major changes in my life. Opening up Litsy again made me feel so nostalgic. The books. The words. It‘s poetry and art to me. It‘s my sanctuary here; getting back to my books. 🫶🏻✨💓
I hope everyone is having a relaxing night reading. 📖
“Come out of it shaken but here, suicide dodged, able to dream once again about a future where I don‘t have to do this, where I‘m at ease with my past, not necessarily living pretty, but I‘m at a place where the demons can‘t find me.”
“Hope is a fool‘s banquet, and the fools who sit down to dine on it usually die of starvation.”
“..one man‘s terrorist is another‘s freedom fighter..”
One of those books you really couldn‘t put down until it‘s done. It was a gangster thriller movie in my head. I loved Eyrie Brown‘s character, from his name to his demeanor. Toni at first, I kind of hated, but respected her as a badass. Nice twist at the end. Similar setting and plot of The Evil and the Pure, but loved it just as much.
“I needed to be a loner to survive, but I was aware that, if I didn‘t take care, I could be too much of a loner for my own good. Antisocial as I was, I did need a few friends to spend time with. Otherwise what was I surviving for?”
Starting off the day good with another Darren Dash book and an iced pineapple matcha w/ dragonfruit drink. (I treat myself to a SB matcha drink every Thursday if I can💚) I hope everyone is having a good day! ☀️
Insane. This story was such a dark twisted adventure. Really didn‘t see things coming until they came. The character development is amazing. The ending left me SHOOK. One of the longer books I‘ve read, so I added sticky notes so I don‘t forget things. Def enjoyed this read!
“It‘s freezing in here. Why don‘t you get an electric heater?”
“It‘ll be plenty hot in hell, so we‘d best enjoy the cold while we can.”
If you read this, you‘ll realize how Gawl is absolutely vile and this is a very true statement for him.
Some quotes that resonated so far:
“A prison‘s a prison, Clint. No matter if the bars are made of solid gold, they‘re still bars.”
“She wished humans had a standby mode, like computers, so that she could simply blank out.”
“Religion was for the weak and gullible. He was determined to wring all of the pleasures from this life that he could. F*** whatever came next. Deal with it when he had to.”
I missed you Litsy! It‘s been a whirlwind since the last time I posted anything. But I‘m happy to be back and most importantly back to my books.
This one was a recommendation from someone special who‘s a huge fan of Darren Dash. From just reading the beginning I think I might be too.
I hope everyone is having a good day! 💐
“In the manic phase, Kenzo would feel on top of the world—When he was depressed, though, he became convinced that his talents were mediocre, his existence worthless, and his dissertation a total waste of time. The wisest thing, he would think at those emotional low tides, would be to throw himself under a train, because there was nothing for him to contribute, and no place in the world where he could ever feel at home.” 🖤
I‘ve missed you Litsy. Here‘s a few books I‘ve picked up. Been going through some things internally and I just really need an escape. ❤️
I hope everyone is having a relaxing Sunday🍃
I can already tell this book is going to be GOOD! I‘m late to it, but I definitely wanted to read it before I watch the movie!
More books from Thriftbooks.com, I‘m addicted because they are so affordable I usually get all my books under $10 so I go a little crazy book shopping on that site. 🤣🤣 #ilovehandmedowns
Horrific. I‘m only glad that the Magnificent Thirteen were able to get away alive. Showing true resilience and power. The way this was written was VERY repetitive. Overall I just didn‘t like the way it was written, but I am grateful to read the story of these brave kids.
Reading the first 60 or so pages, I realized I heard this story before, but from Louise‘s little sister Elizabeth‘s perspective. On the ID Channel show “Evil Lives Here,” Season 6, Episode 8. So interested to find out the whole story now. 😰🤯
Whoa, whoa, whoa.. I LOVED THIS! Probably my favorite read of 2020. It has a little bit of everything from Handmaid‘s Tales, Lord of the Flies, the Village, the Hunger Games, I could go on.. It was such an adventure reading this. 🌺🌹💗❤️
“The things we do to girls. Whether we put them on pedestals only to tear them down, or use them for parts and holes, we‘re all complicit in this.”
It‘s about a mother who goes missing at the Seoul train station. It has different perspectives of the two daughters, son, and husband. It has their takes on who their mother was to them. Revealing that many took advantage and mistreated their mom, only to realize they never took the time to say all the things they wanted to say. It was sad, but I feel the story dragged and I had to force myself to finish. I also hate when I get no clear closure 😪
Love getting books in the mail, it always makes me happy.
This cover is so pretty! I can‘t wait to crack this one open! 💗
WHY AM I LIKE THIS? 😂😂😂😭😭😭
I always suffer in the morning while waking up with my boys 🤦🏻♀️🤣 but WORTH IT...
Interesting read. What I got from this book was the internal things we struggle with that come out in various ways physically. The things that eat us up inside that manifest out. The scene of Yeong-Hye‘s father and the dog that bit her, explained a lot. Though most may read this as very bizarre, it makes a lot of sense to me. 💭
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️, just because they ending was 🤷🏻♀️
“Or perhaps, it was simply that things were happening inside her, terrible things, which no one else could even guess at, and thus it was impossible for her to engage with everyday life at the same time.”
I LOVE this bookmark. Tyrion has always been one of my favs second to Tormund 🤣 #GOT
Anyone have any links to some cool unique bookmarks?
WOW. Tiffany‘s memoir was both inspiring, heartbreaking, and hilarious all in one. Her writing is blunt and straightforward, which I really enjoyed. I pictured everything she was narrating. It reminded me so much of Orange is the New Black, but to understand that it‘s a true story blows my mind.
🤯
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
“I looked up to the ceiling and began laughing, hysterically. I‘ll tell you what—if there is a God, He certainly has a f*****-up sense of humor.”
My favorite shirt🤣 I just realized I need more book shirts...
Current Read: High Achiever 👍🏻
I was pretty much gritting my teeth the whole time rooting for Savitha&Poornima. There is such a harsh truth to this story. A story of poverty, rape, sex trafficking, domestic abuse, the selling of daughters,&the age old traditional ideals of women being inferior. But it is also a story of strong and resilient women who would do anything to protect their friendship&each other. The story was written great, but the ending gave no closure.💔
The only book ever given to me was from a family friend Twilight the first book, lol. She really wanted me to read it. Otherwise I‘ve always bought my own books.
1) My most unusual job was being a cashier at a toll booth in a small airport parking lot of my hometown. But I loved it.
2) I am thankful for my two sons, husband, and mom. & for all the essential everyday things, like a home and food.😊

Whewwww, finally finished it. Well written and very informative. Eye opening. I wish I could hand out copies to many, to comprehend what she speaks of. 👏🏻
❤️👸🏻👸🏿👸🏽👸🏾👸🏼❤️
Yes still reading 154 page book, lol. I‘ve been taking my time to enjoy my two cuties in the back.
Safe to say we haven‘t gone out much to none at all, and it‘s all been driving us crazy. So I pulled the kiddie pool out and grabbed my book. Time to breathe fresh air. 🌬💨🌊🌤
Homemade boba? I can‘t wait for my boba book to come in the mail, to cook up some concoctions of deliciousness. Boba milk tea = LIFE. Here‘s my phone case. 🤣😋
My favorite thing about summer is 🍉 🍉 🍉! W/ some Tajin😋
Random thought: after I finish a book, I think of how great it could be as a movie (since when I read it‘s like a movie in my head) and I picture the line up and actors of who the characters should be. But usually when I see a book turn to a film it‘s greatly disappointing, because I want it exact😅
📚 whats one book you‘d turn into a film? 🎥
🤣🤣 I was hoping it was 2021 already.
But I‘ve been binge reading the past few days.
Difficult read. I really struggled to keep reading... Its revealing the hardships of South Korea‘s history but I did not know certain details that entailed in the Gwangju Massacre. What war can bring. What humans can do to other humans. I enjoyed how the story was written in the perspectives and how they all connected. It‘s something to learn about.
🥀I think this book had so many things to love about it. The dark eerie feelings and yet finding love in a hopeless place. What kept me going the most was the bond between Francis and Noemi. I guess behind my obsession for gore and drama is my wish for a happy ending. And it was delivered.🖤🥀
“Our bodies hide so many mysteries and they tell so many stories without a single word, do they not?”
Where is “your spot” to read?
Once the sky gets dark &the house gets quiet, I curl up in my mauve pink recliner with a cup of earl grey ☕️ (I only get a corner of my house, the rest my boys take completely over🤣)
P.S. so far I‘m loving this book!
🧟♀️ Been obsessed with zombies since I was young and had to sneak watching and reading horror movies and books🤣
What are some of your favorite horror books and movies?! 🧟♀️
Look what came in the mail!
I love the cover!! 🇲🇽🥀❤️
Going to start reading tonight😍
“A woman who does not know herself has no choice other than to live with other people‘s evaluations.”
“I suppose I‘m the one responsible for destroying myself.”
I haven‘t picked up a book in awhile (for what is a while for me) lol. I‘ve been drowning in being a care taker of everyone &everything. I just want everyone to know you cannot pour yourself into someone else‘s cup if your cup is empty! I‘m getting back to my self-care. ❣️
Found my old box of books and totally forgot about the hilariously ridiculous Apocalypse 🐄. 🤣
