Finally had time to relax and read. Friends have been talking about the pros of light romances, so I thought I‘d start with this one. It delivers - fun, romantic, with a mystery and of course, the happy ending. Added benefit is it‘s not Dostoyevsky - I can finish it in a day before something comes up and takes me away from reading (Yes, it does happen!)

I needed a happy escape, so am rereading all the Harry Potter books. I forgot how dark they get towards the end, but I know number 7 is redeeming. I am finding the second time through is better than my first because the flow is uninterrupted from one book to the next which means everything is fresh in my memory.

Finally had some time to destress with colouring. Edward Gorey books are strange but delightful short reads. My favourite is The Doubtful Guest.

My favourite thing to do is to sit down with a good book, my cats and a cup of coffee. Here are my girls as kittens, and as grown cats. The tuxedo kitty likes to lie on my chest as I read, preferring to get in the way as much as possible in front of my book. I just finished reading The Ship - it has me contemplating concepts of safety, hope and freedom to choose.
