This is exactly the atmospheric horror with creature feature vibes you want. The characters are good (the girls were a bit blah) but you didn‘t want anyone to die. Imagery is on point. As King‘s blurb reads, it is definitely one of the best horror novels of the century.

I thought this would be a creature feature. (Only half way through)

This was an,,,interesting book. It wasn‘t bad and was certainly good. A nice quick read at 209 pages. The ending was a shock of character change.

SandySaga Definitely agree about the shocking twist at the end. It was interesting that I found myself almost relieved and happy for him but then I was like NOOOO! 😅 10mo

10/10 would recommend. But go into it with no prior knowledge about it. #iainreid #imthinkingofendingthings #quickread

Anyone else read Misery and think it‘d have more gore to it? (Thank goodness it didn‘t as I squirm a bit when reading gore (looking at you The Ritual)) #stephenking #misery #theritual #adamnevill

LoverOfLearning Starting Misery very soon! My first true Steven King novel! 11mo

This book was definitely from the point of view of a troubled girl. It hyper focuses on mundane things, there‘s basically a whole chapter of Jade, the main character, thinks about the new girl Letha and how much of a “final girl” she is, instead of just answering Letha‘s question of “What is your name?”
I didn‘t love it. I didn‘t fully hate it. I‘m holding hope for the second book.

This book was amazingly told and written. It is in our top 5 books of 2022. And the ending is devastating and made me cry. 20/10 would recommend. A quick read and a page turner, twists in every chapter.
