Eh
Colleen Hoover… the spicy Sarah Dessen…
“Imagine all of the people you meet in your life… They come in and out like waves… Some waves are much bigger and make more of an impact than others. Sometimes the wave bring with them things from deep in the bottom of the sea and they leave things tossed onto the shore. Imprints against the grains of sand that prove the waves had once been there, long after the tide recedes.”
When I picked it up from the library, I had NO IDEA what it was about! Much to my surprise, it was pretty good. This is my second “thriller” book, and I think I might be hooked! This would make an excellent movie!
Had to jump on the bandwagon, thanks to my hubby buying the book for me. It was absolutely excellent bone-chilling and amazing! Terrifying, disgusting, and… did I mention amazing?!
Loved the dueling points-of-view, and the sharing of intimate secrets!
Fast paced, beach read. Ugh, I love a Sarah Dessen during the summer time. There is nothing like it!
FINALLY finished. It was amazing. Really. Words can describe how compelling it was..
“The thing is, you can‘t always have the best of everything. Because for life to be real, you need it all: good and bad, beach and concrete, the familiar and the unknown, big talkers and small towns.” -Sarah Dessen
“Being nice is the first step to being kind.” -Mr. Tushman
Super easy read with great messages about gender, sexuality, and growing up as a feminist. Vegan main character: wonderful representation!
What an awesome book! I know I‘m always a little behind on the trending books but once I finally got my hands on this one, nothing could stop me!
“Sometimes its interpretations are not credible, as when you cut your finger and it starts yelling, “You‘re gonna die!” Sometimes its claims are unlikely, as when it says, “Twenty-five chocolate chip cookies would be the perfect dinner.””
Finished in a sitting. Very harrowing tale. Perseverance, courage, and defiance. You don‘t get a lot of memoirs from this time period where it talks about what comes next. Thank you.
FINALLY finished this beautifully written fictional piece which I‘ve been (embarrassingly) working on since the summer. COVID School sure has been exhausting!
Beautiful poems in the perspective of a young basketball player. The author is truly talented.
I couldn‘t figure out where this book was going at first. It was an easy YA read, but there were a lot of unanswered questions at the beginning. The last 20 pages was when the mystery was finally solved, the characters learned their lesson, and the antagonist got what was coming to him. Enjoyed it!
Woof. What a story! Stephen King is so unbelievably elaborate with his character development and plots. There are no missing links. The ending was terrifying and left me craving more of his work! I throughly enjoyed my first King novel!
Extremely fictional but the beautiful telling of lives that were always intertwined.
“how you love yourself is how you teach others to love you”—— oof. Right in the feels!
What a roller-coaster! I couldn‘t track where it was headed! I loved it! I have Book Club on Tuesday to chat about it!
I don‘t know why I didn‘t read this when it first came out, so it‘s a semi-oldie but goodie! Loved it. So many plot twists. I got this copy at the library for free. The most interesting part was whoever owned it before me made a lot of marks on the pages with a pencil. I love a well-loved book!
Finally, finally, finally got to read this book because it was available in the library. A wonderful message for all.
Absolutely loved this book! She is a brilliant author. It was a wonderful peak into the personal lives of some extremely important people to remind us that they are people, too. Michelle always worked hard for the youth in America and for that I will always love and appreciate her.
Although this took me forever to finish (starting school, new puppy, new house, etc), I feel accomplished that I finally finished a book that I read for pleasure. The beginning of this biography started fast, loud, and made me anxious. I was glad when it started to iron itself out. Extremely heartbreaking retell.
Good God... this book took me a full two weeks to get through. I hate to Bail on books, so I really had to force myself to finish. I couldn‘t, and still can‘t, understand how she could cheat on her cancer riddled husband with the best friend. Such an odd love story.
Such a terribly sad story. I love how the author wrote from the perspective of an autistic child. An amazing insight into their mind.
I liked it! Not a bad book at all. A lot of really awesome plot twists and the story of girls who experience trauma.
Instantly captured by this novel. Two different views: a mother and her daughter. Wonderfully timed and realistic.
Pretty good. Started slow but there was a huge plot twist which I enjoyed. Was an okay read.
Took me FOREVER because I was so entranced by library books but— I love it! Extremely different from the movie, but it a good way!
Amazing! Couldn‘t put it down— finished it in a day! Historical fiction is a new favorite of mine.
Amazing, amazing. I love a good dystopian novel! I couldn‘t put this book down. One of the ones that‘s inside of your head, you know? The way the author wrote gave me intense visual pictures. Loved it!
Brutal narrative about growing up as a girl with a void for parents. Would recommend 10/10! A zest of Catholicism, as well.
Finally able to get some books read!!! The life of a teacher, am I right?! Wonderful, thought-provoking, and creative read about the strength of every lasting love. Can‘t wait to read Another Day!
A well loved copy that was abandoned in the teachers room at school. Why, yes, thank you! (( #moderndayclassic #jurassicpark #dinosrule ))
Woah. Weird. Same author of Feed. Really hard to follow but a good dystopian novel.
Oh. My. God. What an amazing thriller. It captivated me with cliff-hangers, plot twists, and the sheer power of a mother whose kids are in danger. 10 times out of 10 would recommend.
I rarely cry while reading a novel, but this is the one that did me in. A beautiful story of friendship and love surviving through the ages. Gorgeous
Quick, easy read but extremely relatable to the underprivileged school district that I work in. Some mature language but a heartfelt story.
Emails and text messages between two separated best friends while they are amidst their freshmen year in college. I mostly read young adult books to be able to recommend them for the students that I teach. Dealing with drugs, alcohol, and sex, this is an age appropriate novel relating to teens.
Funny story- when I pick books from the library, I rarely read what they are about because I like a surprise. This one, i guess I didn‘t see the giant romance sticker on it! This was my first time reading a romance novel and I can‘t say that I would do it again. Quick, easy read
Was excited at first because I thought it was going to be a novel of a murder that was pinned on someone else, but turned out to be anti-climactic in the end. Took me forever to finish!
What a head-scratcher! Hard to get into because the first chapters were about training and the action hadn‘t really started yet, but I enjoyed he trip to deep space. There was one sentence that made my stomach flip and a feeling of terror washed over me. I would tell you what it is but: spoilers.
