What a fun read! I really enjoyed this story and look forward to the next installment! I‘ll definitely be checking out Marie Lu‘s other books too.
This is a tough one for me to review; it‘s somewhere between pick and so-so. I really wasn‘t sure about it until I hit the halfway point. It was then that I really started to get into the story of A. A is an incredibly insightful character and I was invested in his life (lives?). There were a few things that could have maybe been flushed out more for my liking, but ultimately I enjoyed the story and the way it wrapped up.
Starting in on this one tonight instead...Definitely an interesting premise, but mixed reviews have me unsure going in. I found it for a great price and decided to give it a go!
The research McNamara conducted and narrative she weaves is nothing short of astounding. The story of the Golden State Killer was creepy and disturbing, making me perk up at routine noises (especially if I was reading at night). At the same time, Michelle‘s story was very relatable to me. At times I found myself wishing I could have met her, been her friend. It is truly tragic that such a personable, intelligent writer was taken from us too soon.
April TBR! Very excited for this stack of books from the library and #TheBrightHour from my own collection. I‘m finishing up #IllBeGoneintheDark this evening and then jumping into #Warcross or #AnAmercianMarriage. Decisions, decisions! #tbr #april
On to my next library hold and the “true crime” prompt for the Read Harder Challenge. (There‘s also something that feels so special about being the first person to read your library‘s copy of a book!) Can‘t wait to dig in!#illbegoneinthedark #truecrime #publishedposthumously #readharder2018
I wasn‘t sure I would really enjoy this book when I started but I ended up becoming quite invested in the characters and their experiences. There were several moments that left me quite emotional. It‘s not a book that I‘d necessarily recommend to everyone, but there is a message to be found about how you live your life in the face of what you know and believe. If you enjoy family dramas and life lessons, this book could be for you.
After a couple months, my hold at the library finally came in! #finally #booksof2018 #gorgeouscover
