pickThis book was fantastic. On the day of her death Orquidea gathers her family to her so that she can give them their Inheritance and then she literally transforms into a tree. Seven years later after a few of the family members die questionably Marimar, Rey and Rhiannon start searching for answers to Orquidea's history.

pickI came hesitantly, but from the first page action and adventure had me rolling along with the story. Battles between fabricated creatures and futuristic machinery were mind boggling. It was Star Wars in Europe at the beginning of WWI. And, did I mention that Churchill and Charles Darwin's granddaughter are foes? Reading has been such a struggle for me these last few months that, rather than fight with myself, I've decided to revisit an old friend. Harriet and Lord Peter are one of my favorite literary couples and, of the books that focus on them, this is the one I like best.
