I know I'm in the minority, but this was meh. I didn't like the main character, I thought she was a selfish brat, and I didn't buy into the love story at all. The various faculty-student "romances" were creepy. There wasn't enough development of any of the peripheral characters, which could have been interesting.

I really enjoyed this one, Veronica and Stoker are wonderfully human characters. I only regret that I started reading this before the rest of the series is published, so now I have to wait!

I just heard about this #24in48 readathon. I've got four kindle books from my library that are due soon, and it's going to be stupid hot this weekend, so I think I'll make myself a nest under the a/c vent and have a lazy weekend!

Next up on the Kindle. I'm really looking forward to this one! I may have a Brontë theme going on this summer.

I am not a huge fan of werewolves & vampires (except Buffy, of course), especially in YA fiction, but this was fun and suspenseful. I'll be continuing the series!

A third of the way through I can guess where the story is going, and really looking forward to the ride.

As much as I like Jane Austen and Alexander McCall Smith, this just wasn't working for me. First of all, Emma is my least favorite Austen heroine, and this re-telling was pretty much the same story set in modern times. There was nothing to make it particularly relevant.

Honestly, I didn't care for Little Bee and didn't realize this was the same author. I'm glad I didn't, though, because this was wonderful. I loved the dry British humor, mixed with absolute devastation. This was a roller-coaster of emotion, and had great insight into the sacrifices and suffering...

What if Jack Reacher showed up in a town and there were no baddies to take down? What would he do with himself? Be a tourist?

Jane Eyre + serial killer, two of my favorite things. Listening to the audio version, and enjoying it so far

I wish I could remember who recommended this book. I'm thinking it was compared to Gone Girl and/or The Girl on the Train. There's suspense, and I want to know what happens, but I don't love it for some reason.

I needed something light after that last book. I think this series qualifies as cozy mystery. I'm a sucker for murder in a quaint village.

Somehow, all my library requests always show up at once. It's a terrible/wonderful problem.

Such a satisfying read, The Physician will stay with me for a long time.

A lazy, rainy Saturday morning with a little dog, mindless knitting, and a good book. I've been in a reading lull for the past few months, but The Physician is getting me back into it.
