"If we were not islands, we would be lost, drowned in each other's tragedies."

What a beautiful book, inside out. Loved this read and the illustrations are amazing!

I don't think I've ever struggled so much with finishing a book, but determination pays off. Finished it as my end of 2017-challenge and in the end, it's a good read, even if it's dense and difficult. (Coffee certainly helped with that)

This edition is seriously the most beautiful book I've ever owned. And best thing: it's signed!

Curley_Bender Wow, that is lovely. 6y

And so, from nothing, our universe begins.

After finishing my dissertation, I needed something completely different and Bill Bryson never disappoints!

I never read it as a child, but this is seriously so good. I think it should be on everyone's reading list, there are so many smart and touching things in it. And let's face it, Pullman's writing is brilliant.

A bit of light reading for my dissertation.
I know a lot of people can't read this book and I struggled a lot too, but once you get used to the language and the rythm, it is an incredibly beautiful piece of art. Would totally recommend, even if it is tiring!

Dubliners | Joyce James
Pickpick

Never read Joyce before, but I just had to buy some of his works when I was in Dublin. I can definitely see why he is such a cherished author, Dubliners is definitely a portrait of a city book that delivers what it promises!

They were character and authors both, able to tell what they wished, cradle the rest in silence.

A perfect summary of Austrians and a book that honestly made me cry at the end of it. Thomas Bernhard is as wonderful as he sounds dull

Always a pleasure to read Othello. No matter how often I read it, the goosebumps are there every single time.

Mansfield Park | Jane Austen

Ms Austen never disappoints! Even though I was a bit unnerved by some of the characters, it is a wonderful book and case study of the society
