I have no idea where or when I acquired this book, so I think that makes it a perfect #ReadOrDonate candidate! What will everyone else be reading?

PuddleJumper The usual Heroes of Olympus book. I've got someone waiting for me to finish the series so she can have the books 🤣 2w
TheAromaofBooks I literally just reach in a box and grabbed a book 😂 Looks like April's pick is 2w
julieclair @PuddleJumper Nothing like a little friendly pressure, right? It‘s a great motivator. 😘 1w
julieclair @TheAromaofBooks Sounds like a great method to me! 😂 1w
Reggie Ughhhhh the husband in this book. Booooooooooo! 1w

🌸 Did you read this month's #buddyread
🌸 Did you like the author's style?
🌸 Were there any particular women that stood out for you?

The premise seemed interesting, and the book definitely wasn‘t. There was not enough difference in characters‘ voices, their personalities kept shifting, they behaved like middle schoolers, and wrote like middle schoolers. Lots of telling, not nearly enough showing of anything. Unconvincing romance. Cringey sex scenes. I felt the author was writing what she thinks a romance reader would like, so the story is all over the place. Mature content.

Truth.

TheBookHippie This read was wild. 3w
Suet624 @TheBookHippie I‘m still trying to figure out how I feel about it. The woman bugged the crap out of me and the husband contributed nothing financially to the family which ticked me off. So I‘m trying to figure out if I can separate those characters out of my assessment of the book. Saying I enjoyed reading it would not be accurate but I think she did a good job with it. 3w
Mimi28 I have it on hold at the library 3w

TheBookHippie @Suet624 I feel that way too. It‘s well written. It infuriated me! 3w
Suet624 @Mimi28 there‘s a lot of good to be found in the book. I look forward to your thoughts on it. 3w
Mimi28 It‘s not even in transit. It may take a few weeks I apologize 🤷🏽‍♀️🫶🏽😊🩷 3w
sarahbarnes I haven‘t gotten to this one yet. That‘s a great quote. 3w

#LitsyToB25 Our winner is Colored Television with 75% of the votes. That means Irena Rey still got quite a few votes among us.

In the #ToB25 Irena continues. This doesn‘t surprise me. It‘s a typical ToB book and I liked the judgment. Personally I am happy with this outcome because I liked it better than CT. What do you think?

ImperfectCJ I liked Colored Television better, but Irena Rey has actually grown on me since I finished it (it surprises me how often I think about it), so the different decisions in the two ToBs is a great outcome, from my perspective. 1mo
Lesliereadsalot Two more that I missed! Darn! 1mo
TheBookHippie Finally I‘m almost 100 percent. I could go either way here. 1mo
Hooked_on_books I thought Irena was a fascinating book, but trying a little too hard to be madcap. CT, on the other hand, was one of my top fiction reads last year, so this was an easy choice for me. Boo on today‘s judge and may CT rise again! 1mo
AmyG I started CT, am enjoying it, but haven‘t finished it. 1mo
squirrelbrain It doesn‘t surprise me that Irena made it through the real #ToB. I agree with you, Barbara - it‘s most definitely a ToB book. 1mo
kwmg40 I'm happy with both decisions. When I voted for CT, I had just started Irena and didn't have high hopes. I'm most of the way through Irena now and it has grown on me. 1mo
Well-ReadNeck I voted for CT and am thrilled that we picked it. The judge today just reads very differently from me and I was not convinced by her rationale in the least. But, I‘m a fan of a plot and I just felt like Irena was trying too hard. And, by the end I just did not care at all. Totally agree that it‘s a ToB sort of book, tho 1mo
Butterfinger I really liked Irena Rey. The quirkiness was one of the reasons I liked it. It was a hybrid of ALL genres. It surprised me how much I liked it. I have not read Colored Television, yet. 1mo
BarbaraBB @ImperfectCJ Me too! I wonder why? And I have forgotten all about CT! (edited) 1mo
Megabooks Irena Rey was my worst book of last year, so yeah, I‘m happy for CT to continue! 1mo
Jas16 Loved CT so happy to see it advance with us. 1mo
Suet624 I‘m reading and enjoying CT so far. 4w

Pickpick

A weak pick for me. I liked the dark humour and satirical observations but it was frustrating to see the main character make one bad decision after another!
