post image

The glass castle is the story of Jeannette walls, from a life of poverty into adulthood. Jeannette gives us her experiences and thoughts while we as the audience are able to gain an insight into her family and life. If you like books that tell the story of a persons life and their hardships than this is the book for you. Jeannette uses the first person view through the techniques of using words like “I“ “Me“ “We“ and “Us“.

jratm summary of the entire book- The book follows the life of Jeannette and her family. Her parents are neglectful, and often don't adhere to their children's needs. Her early life has a lot of moving around and this is where the core concept of the Glass Castle is introduced, a promised future never to be fulfilled. As Jeannette's grows up her childlike innocence begins to fade and she becomes disillusioned of her parents actions. 2y
jratm Summary of the entire book 2- This growth that Jeannette experiences has got her wanting to move out as soon as possible. This causes the children to have desires to move out as soon as possible and they decide on New York. Eventually when everybody's old enough they move out and, through the skills and hardship they experience at home are able to grow on to become hard working well kept adults 2y

The Glass Castle: A Memoir | Jeannette Walls
post image

The glass castle is the memoir of author Jeannete walls, and it goes over the story of her life. She retells the stories of her messy childhood and her neglectful parents antics. If you like memoirs that convey the experiences of an unconventional life this book is for you. One major theme in the book is family and family relations, this is most prominently shown by the ignorant parents and the effect they have on the rest of the kids

Lightfinder | Aaron Paquette
post image

Light finder is a story about a young Cree woman named Aisling. After her brother runs away she goes on a journey to look for him with help from her grandmother and others. If you like fantasy books that delve into mythology and you wanna know more about the Cree mythology than this is the book for you. A recurring motif throughout the story is neglect and isolation. In the book this is important as it is the main driving force to Eric's actions

MissYaremcio This looks incredible! I have read a few of Aaron Paquette's stories and I love mythology, so this would fit perfectly for me! 6/6 3y
