Beautifully written, difficult but important to read. Truly heavy on the mind and soul.

“I wanted to write a lie. You wanted to read that lie. I wrote this to you instead.”

I‘ll be thinking about this book for a while.

Really enjoying this book so far. A little afraid to find what she is looking for. #autismawarenessmonth

Well-written and an engaging story. If you like ghosts, fairy tales, and cake, you will like this book!

I couldn‘t get through the first hour of listening. Everything in moderation, including organizing and clutter, disorganization and planning.

Illuminating look at the attitudes toward slavery during Washington‘s time and from Washington himself. Ona was a marvel.

This was a wonderful action/mystery story set in the 1910's that is based upon true events. There is a sequel that I will track down. This author is kindly doing a Skype visit with my book club tomorrow, so I am looking forward to finding out more about her research for this story.

Loved how the author described her characters and had the story come full circle in several respects.

An insightful look from another outsider to the Mississippi Delta, including all that is both wonderful and heartbreaking about my adopted home state.

Loved this. A gritty and raw look at PTSD as it affects a father and daughter. Good company on flights that were delayed, delayed, delayed.

If anyone ever wants a book in the horror genre, I might have to recommend this one. It is a compelling read, and it made me extremely grateful for my loving parents who see me as I am, not who they want me to be.

shawnmooney I read and very much enjoyed it late last year. And one of the most interesting characters aside from Rosemary herself was her rebellious sister Kick. I have the new bio of her on my list now. 8y
shawnmooney Ha! Actually two biographies of Kick Kennedy came out in 2016. This is the one I heard about. 8y
Librarian Thanks, @shawnmooney. I put it on my to read list. 8y

Jess_Read_This Well said. I haven't mustered about the nerve to read this one. Just knowing the surface details saddened me so much... 8y
Librarian @jess_read_this I was afraid that l wouldn't be able to read it all the way through, but the author did a good job presenting Rosemary, her family, and historical context. I do still want to cry and say WTF, though. 8y
bookishkai @Librarian @Jess_Read_This if you're on a Kennedy reading binge, I can't recommend hard enough Patrick Kennedy's book. It's a view from the second generation (he is Ted Kennedy's son), and he skillfully addresses the way all the traumas in the family have affected them all. 8y
Librarian @bookishkris Thanks! I added it to my list. 8y
Jess_Read_This @Librarian I think I will feel the same when I do read this one. That poor girl. @bookishkris Thanks for the recommendation! Adding it to my stack! 8y

Saw the movie last weekend, and I wanted to know more. I am on hour two of the audiobook and am enjoying this. However, I cannot concentrate on verbal math equation examples (there has only been one so far) when I am driving. I'll have to pick up a print copy to see what I missed.

And here I was thinking it was an X-Men ripoff. Dang!

Librarian Was kind of worried where this was going, but Syd is a strong character. 9y
Librarian Yes, I get super emotionally involved with everything I read. You should see me with cereal boxes! 9y
